I do DEILD a lot, and for whatever reason, I'm successful even if I move after waking up. A lot of people say they can't move or it ruins their chances, but whatever. 
Anyways, when I wake up in the morning, and the light is hitting me in the face, I roll to my side, grab the comforter, pull it over my head, and curl in a ball. I do it so often I can do it in seconds, and often without knowing I do it.
If you need improvisation, I would recommend cotton balls. They make great earplugs. I used to use them when I was a kid, and my grandparents would take me to monster truck rallies and dirt bike races.
As for a sleep mask, a lot of people simply buy a pair of underwear, or a sock (never used, of course) and attack that to a headband. Or you could just buy ear plugs and a sleep mask.
