      First Lucid Dream???

Well I decided to try to lucid dream yesterday night. I was doing reality checks throughout the day and I was pretty sure I wouldn't succeed, but I decided to give it a shot anyways.
First of all, I have been having very clear dream recall for over a year now. It just started last year, where suddenly I would remember all my dreams of the previous night. I did some reality checks and whatnot, then went to sleep, repeating over and over again, "I will remember every aspect of this dream when I awaken." However, when I woke up two hours later, I didn't remember anything! I tried again, doing the above. I woke up again a few hours later, and I did not remember any dream whatsoever. I did some reality checks, but decided to just fall asleep without anything in particular in mind. I had two dreams, of the non-lucid kind. I woke up, wrote in my dream journal, then fell asleep.
Here's the part where I think I had my lucid dream. The night before, I went to Olive Garden with my friends. I was dreaming that it was after Olive Garden, and for some reason we were going to eat fast food. However, the clock said 10:11. I thought it was very strange, and I kept on questioning it until I shouted out loud in my dream, "Wait, I'm dreaming, aren't I?"
Here's where things got a little creepy. All the people in my dream screamed at me, and they seemed to be trying to keep me in the dream. I tried to take a step, but I couldn't move at all. Yet I was aware that it was a dream. I attempted twice to wake up, and it was only on the second time that I managed to snap my eyes open. It was kind of frightening, how I couldn't wake up.
So I was wondering, was that really a lucid dream? And if it was a lucid dream, then how come I couldn't even move? I didn't have any control whatsoever. If someone would help me, I'd be grateful.

I am not really an expert, but to me it sounded a lot like a lucid dream. Perhaps you were just lacking control.

Hi rymmkon, if you realised at any point during the dream it was a dream, then it was a lucid one. So yes, it was a LD. The fact that you couldnt move may be due to this being your first LD. Control comes with experience. Next time try to stay calm and keep focussed on being lucid. To stay in the dream focus on objects in the dream, and/or your interaction with it (rubbing hands works for me). Good luck .

I only had 2 LDs yet, but both times i felt really strange. I call it lucid dream feeling. It's a unique, unexplainable feeling. I don't know if it's just me or not.
