First Lucid Dream and now Questions!!

      Hi guys,

my first post here and I have to say firstly how staggered I am (in a good way) that such a community exists. I have just started looking into Lucid Dreaming after I had my first proper one the other night, and I must say, what a crazy experience. In a way I felt more alive than I ever had, and things were so vivid...all senses feel 10000x more sensitive. I also found that my thoughts were out loud, so as I consciously thought, I spoke the words i thought in the dream.

I have a couple of what might seem weird questions, but bear with me.

has anyone ever learnt anything, i mean be told things while in the lucid dream. Received information in the dream.

Ive read alot, and watched alot on youtube. The whole concept of the soul being able to leave the body and being seperate from it, i.e. the body is just a vehicle for the soul. can this be linked to lucid dreams?

I found the whole experience very intense and I think its sorta changed me in a strange sort of way.

      Hi Dann. Welcome to DV.

Congratulations on getting your first Lucid Dream. It sure is amazing isn't it. It definitely can be a life changing experience. It's a rush that some of us here live for.

To answer your question. I have gotten some good advice from DC's before. I actually had a non Lucid in my nap today, and got some amazingly good advice from a DC about a personal matter.

One of my most recent tasks is to get a DC to tell me something that I don't already know. I've only asked once so far. I didn't get the best response that time.

He said, "you are not really dreaming." Then he laughed and said, " Just kidding," and went back to what he was doing. I left it at that and went and did something else.

      Hi!
I'm a newbie as well (today) & I'm just surprised that this was your 1st lucid dream! I've been having them since childhood & can't imagine any other way of dreaming! Some of the research states that if its sudden, the cause may be physical ailment or extreme stress. I'm wondering if that's the case with you, and your age. Also-have you ever had ANY type of dream experiences? Just wondering.

      Thanks for the replies evryone,

To Torrie, I have had intense and very memorable dreams in the past, often where i could fly etc, but the other night was really the first time I was truly in control and consciously knowing was dreaming.

Regarding a trigger for the dream, there may potentially have been one. The night before I started having seriously intense dreams was last week week and on my 21st birthday we really did go out on a heavy night. quite a messy night, mdma was involved. Pretty much the next 3 nights i dreampt intensely and on the third was my lucid that prompted me to write on these forums.

Im quite a heavy bud smoker which a quick skim over the forum shows this can be detrimental if youre trying to lucid?

uhhm another random question, in a lucid has anyone ever experienced entities which arent human?

Animals... or, do you mean beings of energy or power?

To answer your first question: Yes. The dreaming mind has access to things that your waking mind doesn't. Your dreams can bring back memories of things that you've long forgotten. In fact, it's kind of like a form of hypnosis, in a loose interpretation of the word.

Your second question would be be answered in the Beyond Dreaming forum, Dreamviews doesn't officially take any stance on things beyond science, but there are quiet a few members who talk about such things Make sure you use the Beyond Dreaming forum though and not the Religion forum, BD is heavily moderated, religion is not.

      Sounds like a holodeck!

Yeah I can definitely relate to this. The whole experience has really opened my up to a whole new world of consciousness.

      Thanks for the signpost =)

I think ive definitely got alot to learn both here and in the 'next' world hehe. Have been practicing WILD but I have not yet managed to attain the anywhere near same level of awareness and intensity of my first experience. I seriously woke up a changed man that morning

edit: Just to clarify, does DILD generally produce a more intense LD than WILD? Through a deeper sleep/dream state?

DILDs and WILDs should both vary in intensity, but you can visualize your way into a WILD so iy may be clearer from the start if you're a good viaualizer. And as for souls, science has proven that dreams are the creations of your subconcious, not soul vessels. But again, Beyond Dreaming.
