      Need Help dreaming

I started my dream journal a couple weeks ago, and about 2 days after writing down my dreams I had my first lucid dream. The dream wasnt long lasting but it was exiting that i was finally able to exercise small control over my dreams. The problem is, ever since that vivid lucid dream, i havent been able to have any dreams that are nearly that vivid, so its hard for me to become lucid. I try to set my mind on lucid dreaming before going to sleep, but i seem to wake up in the morning without remembering anything.

I need help, Im extremely discouraged. Is there anything I can do to get back to lucidity?

practise makes perfect. think of the things you did the night you had to lucid drream and do them. or pretend your in your first lucid dream and picture what you did/ would do again if you were in the luicid dream

I appreciate the advice, perhaps im getting impatient. Ive just been looking forward to the idea of a 24 hour life. When i had my first lucid dream i woke up refreshed, i felt like i had just experienced something i thought was beyond human potential. It became clear that with enough practice i would never reallly have to sleep. So, maybe my ambition has me getting impatient with the whole proccess.

Ive also been sick lately, does that affect the way you dream in a negative way?

Do a memory mantra. Something like "I will remember my dreams." Say this over and over in your head before you fall asleep. It has worked for me and quite a few others on this forum. Your dream journal is a good step, but it must be kept diligently. I'm afraid your lucid may have been a bit of a fluke. You really want to build up your recall, first. Also, to assist in recall, you may wish to hold as still as you can upon waking, as moving sends signals to the brain that disrupt whatever train of thought you had going.

i dont think you being sick would stop your dreams but if your so sick that it affects you being able to sleep then yes it could make a difference. and mario is 100% right.
i make up my own commands that i tell myself such as i will be aware in my dream tonight! i will RC in my dream tonight.

I was sick for a couple days and I didn't remember any of my dreams. I'm not sure if that did it though. I also heard apple juice increases vividness.
