Thread: Failure dream

Hi, so I'm Sam. I'm new here, but I figured I try this out.

So the other night I had a dream that I was dating my best friend (that's a guy). My best friend has an ex-girlfriend that just recently broke up with him.

I've never liked her and I've always been trying to get them to break up for the four years that they were together. I will admit that I was jealous. But not because I liked him. Just because he was always with her and she never let him hang out with me because she also hated me. Her and I had gotten in a fight last year and ever since then her and I never got along.

On Monday she broke up with him (this time for good), and I had the dream while I was at my boyfriend's house on Friday. In the dream I was sitting with my best friend, between his legs, just relaxing, and his ex was there. She was obviously jealous, but was trying to hide it.

When they were together I had been in that situation many times. It only made me hate her even more. The relationship that I have with him is very close. We can cuddle and talk about anything and he's given me a few massages in which my shirt was off. But we've decided that if we were ever in a relationship then our friendship wouldn't be as strong.

His ex still talks to him because they used to fight all the time and break up a lot but they would always get back together, but this time he isn't taking her back. She's off at college in Maine and he lives in New Hampshire. I'm going to college in Boston. Him and I talk all the time about everything. I'm going home to see him next weekend.


So yeah, I'm not really sure what to do now.

Wow...um...I would say to give it a shot with this guy, and if it doesn't work out, just remember that there are millions of fish in the sea. You'll find someone, eventually. I'm not so sure I support the notion of trying to break two people up on purpose...

It seems obvious that you in fact do like this guy but you've restrained yourself. Life's too short. I'd say just go for it and expect to have your heart broken. It'll torture you either way.

Oh, I didn't realize this was in the lucid dreaming section.

But like, I don't want to screw things up because he is my best friend and I'm afraid that a relationship might get in the way of the friendship.

Or the friendship will get in the way of the relationship. If there's sexual tension now then it will only grow. I've been there myself and it will drive you insane if you don't try to act on it. Of course it will change your relationship and you can never go back. Part of life. Play with love you will get hurt. No way to avoid it. So I recommend diving right in.

There isn't really any sexual tension. Like, he'll give me back massages and I'll be half naked. It doesn't bother either of us.
