New here, experienced a semi-lucid dream

Hi, I'm new here to the forum and would like to share a semi-lucid dream I had, which is my first lucid experience since first learning about it around a month ago.

My dream began normally, but near the end I suddenly realized I was dreaming. Everything shifted and I felt more conscious and more in control. It felt incredibly strange! I used the spinning technique a couple of times to prolong the dream, and found myself in a strange video game/Lego-esque town, where I flew in the air for a short while before finding myself back in my room. I found it very easy to make objects appear but was unable to transport anywhere else. After walking around my house, I lost control of the dream and woke up a afterward. I call it semi-lucid because I didn't have complete control, and it wasn't very vivid.

Despite that it was only semi-lucid, it's gotten me very excited about lucid dreaming again.

I've tried WILD a couple times, but to little success. I've felt my body become partly numb, but haven't seen a trace of any hypnagogic imagery. Is this due to not employing the WBTB method prior to WILD? How much easier is WILD with WBTB compared to WILD without?

The first time I attempted to WILD, my brother woke up in the middle of night and said he seen me shaking like I was possessed. I have no memory of this, and I was up for the majority of the night. Does anyone know what this is? How far was I from a lucid dream? Thanks for reading.

Awesome dream. I love dreams like that, where you get to explore. If you want to learn to WILD, you must do a WBTB. It is very difficult (almost impossible) to WILD when you first go to bed at night. It is still good practice for meditation and trance induction, but don't expect any dreams.

That sounds spectacular and is just making me even more excited to finally be able to do this.

On a quick side note, what is WLDE and WILD?

      Asterick.

I'm glad to see spinning works for someone! I've never really heard of it working for many people here.

Glad to see your interest in Lucid Dreaming has picked up again, and feel free to ask about anything you're wondering about or need clarification on.

WILD is a Wake-Initiated-Lucid-Dream. I don't know what you mean by WLDE, unless you're referring to a WBTB, or a Wake-Back-To-Bed.

Being lucid is sort of a yes-no thing; either you know you're dreaming (lucid) or you don't (non-lucid). There isn't really a semi-lucid, unless you aren't sure whether you knew it was a dream.

Anyway, congrats on your first lucid! It sounds like you did a lot of stuff; lots of people just wake up right after their first time becoming lucid.

Thanks guys. I'm going to attempt a proper WBTB WILD this Friday. I've heard that WILD induced lucid dreams are more vivid than DILDs.
