Became Lucid in 4days, Passing on exactly what I did.

Hi guys let me just say first of all im a really honest person and nothing i say in this post are lies like i suspect in many other posts i see around these days. I'm also really new to lucid dreaming so please bare with me if I use the wrong terminology.

Ok so 4 days ago I began looking at lucid dreaming and while I was looking came onto Astral Projection, well i feel that the topic of astral projection is a bit beyond me right now I still like to practise some of the relaxation techniques, they have been to prove very useful in lucid dreaming, anyway basically what I did was a "WILD".

Ok so I went to sleep about 2.00 AM and woke up about 7:30 AM i then got up went to the toilet had a small drink of water and came back to bed. I layed on my back for about 25 minutes practising my relaxation techniques (((take deep breaths while counting them until your body is fully relaxed)))

Note: highly recomend reading http://www.spiritual.com.au/astral.html its a good days reading but well worth it!!! it really helps with some very good relaxtion methods and energy raising techniques, you should read it before you try what i suggest.

Anyway after I lied on my back and felt fully relaxed i was very doursy and calm, I slowly turned into my sleeping position and made that mental note to try to turn lucid as soon as i know im dreaming. ANyway I let a few day dreams go around in my head and i must of fallen asleep after that, but about 25-30 minutes later i found my self just sitting at a table, now the dream was really real but i still didn't pickup that it was a dream but i was telling my self at the same time "I can't remember getting up" so i was partly lucid but just didn't realise it, anyway all of the sudden my mind went black and about 10 minutes later i found my self on some grass, and this time it triggured! i was lucid it only lasted for about 15 seconds but it was really amazing, until my mind just turned black again, i tried the spinning technique but i think i was too late.

Anyway hope it helps someone, please give me some advice for anyone thats had similar first situations.

Congrats! That is a good method and I second you in recommending it to others. Of course the amount of time required for other will probably vary, this method combined with performing reality checks during they day should be highly effective

      Yep - congrats
The time it takes for people to have an LD seems to vary greatly, btw

Yeah - Chaoscommander and NBK - ditto and ditto. I just hope I don't lose faith, this seems to take a bit of patience and I'm just so dang excited about becoming a pro already. Thanks for the info, Griffon, any help we can get in our quest for the lucid dream.

Yeah we all hive after being pros in lucid dreaming, while it seams that the naturals hive after dreaming normal. (Still... damn those naturals) For me it feels like i progress slowly now a day. Having a lucid dream now and then. The goal is to induce at will offcourse. But the golden rule "TTT" "Things take time" still rules. And offcourse everyone progress at differnt rates. But its here motivation comes in, with disceplin. Even when it feels like im getting nowhere, when i have a dry period, when i feel like im never going to have a WILD ever! I still try to motivate myself as best as i can, going to bed everynight hopefully. Cause i know im going to master this.

Hey rckclimb - You should introduce yourself with a 'New Topic'
That way you get your own thread to have people say 'Hey.. Welcome. Sure, I know what helps for that!'

Anyway, my suggestion is to read the articles
There are 2 main branches of techniques - becoming lucid while already in the dream (dream induced) and staying lucid while falling asleep (wake induced)
You need to play with the options to find what works for you personally

I would just like to say that I've been interested in lucid dreaming for the last 5 months. In that time, I had three lucid dreams using the MILD technique, as well as autosuggestion. I felt that I should have been having more lucid experiences. I kept reading over methods to try, and I must say that the WBTB method was one that stuck out for me. I have used it all this week, each morning, and have had 6 lucid dreams already. They seem to last longer than my other ones did also. I seem to not have to struggle with reality checks and dream signs as much with this method. One drawback is that I find myself quite fatigued during the afternoon since doing this method. Does anyone know if the tiredness passes after a while?

      Thanks.

I know reality checks are a oogd technique, but how exactly do you do them? Just stop and think, why does any of this make sense? Because if you're awake then there must a logical explanation, is that the general idea?
So...which is real, the pink one or the black one?

Question the reality you are in. Is this real? Am I dreaming? There are some things that act differently in dreams contra reality. In example:

Turning a lightswitch won't have any effect in dreams.
Try to remember what you did before. If you're dreaming, it's very likely you can't remember much.
Pinch your nose. If you can breath through, you're dreaming.
Close one eye, and look at your nose. Can you see it? If you can't, you're dreaming.
Try to read something. If it's a dream, you probably can't read much.
Have a digital watch? Look at it. Then look at it again. If the time has changed or has abnormal letters etc. you're dreaming.

And more of them exist. These are the ones I tend to use.
