Lol, believe me, you don't want to spin fast. It's too disorienting and you can't focus on your surroundings. Everything requires your attention to exist in dreams, so if you can't concentrate on your surrounding, the fall apart and you wake up. |

hi, im new here, and ive been using dreamviews for the past few months with decent progress. last night, i had a short lucid dream, and i attempted dream spinning, but it appeared that my coordination in my dream was terrible, as i almost fell over and could only spin slowly... can anybody help me with this? |

The few times that I have had a proper lucid dream I found the best way was to cause as much commotion in the dream as possible and do my best to break things and knock them over. Yelling also works well for me. |

Well, get up from your computer, and spin two rounds around. This is exactly the way you should spin in your dream! Nothing less, nothing more. I don't really understand why it's more difficult for you, when I did it in my first LD, it felt as natural as when you spin in real life..! But anyways, everything is practise, this is too. |

I still use spinning as one of the dream stabilizing techniques. I tend to forget that rubbing hands does the trick even better (so much that I even gained superclear sight at night in my dream). Sometimes spinning indeed only causes me to wake up, but it's also a good way to change the scenery - exactly because if you don't focus on it, it de-stabilizes and is prone to change. What I do is look up at the sky, so that I don't focus on anything around me, then spin, and voila - I find myself in a slightly/very different place. It's not perfect, it doesn't TELEPORT me, but it changes the place I'm in. I even managed to change the season - from summer to winter - that way. So it's useful, I think. |
