      Hi There!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to post a quick introduction!

My name is Ainsley, and I'm 17. I'm new to lucid dreams, and I've never experienced one before {that I remember, at least.} I've always had a pretty easy time recalling my dreams and can typically remember details and scenes from all the dreams I've had during the night upon waking in the morning.

I'd really like to learn how to have LDs and become aware in my dreams because I have horrible nightmares pretty often in which I feel pain and it's really distressing. Also, I find it fascinating that I could actually learn to control my dreams, so I'd like to learn how so I could have some interesting dreams just for fun too!

Can't wait to get to know everyone and learn more, I hope to make some friends along the way!

      Hi Ainsley!

I'm sorry to hear about your nightmares....the good news is, lucid dreaming is incredibly helpful for dealing with nightmares. Once you are lucid, you can confront those nightmares--eve ask them why they exist and what they mean. Once confronted, a nightmare will typically disappear forever.

It's good that you laready have great dream recall though. That's pretty much the first step to lucid dreaming. Do you keep a dream journal yet? Dream journals are extremely helpful in getting lucids. You can even keep one here for DVers to read and comment on in the Dream Journal section.

Hello, welcome to Dream Views! You sure did come to the right place. You can find information on virtually anything that has to do with dreaming here. You got some of the smartest people working to help you as soon as you ask for it.

Here is some links for some of the common induction techniques:

I just have to say, you will most likely not get a LD in your first week of trying. But you have to stay devoted and never give up, no matter how long it takes!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I don't keep a dream journal yet, but I'll start one now.

It's good to know I can confront the nightmares and even make them go away completely. I find that I have alot of nightmares where I'm being raped and it always hurts. I've always found this really strange because I've never had any kind of sexual abuse in my life, and no one close to me has dealt with it either.
