Question is it possible to WILD at midnight? heeelp

basically, i'm wondering if you can WILD without doing the WBTB or whatever its called.

i had my first lucid dream, by waking up at 3am, then attempting to wild.

but can i do it say by... the first time i go to bed at night, attempt to do it then ? without sleeping before or anything ?

because i took a nap in the afternoon for a few hours, so i wont sleep early enough for me to wake up and go back to bed.
i was wondering if i could directly WILD without having to sleep first.

      any advice ?
      hey there.

WILD usually doesn't work when going to bed. This is because you have to go through several sleep stages before you get to REM sleep. During a WBTB, you usually enter straight into REM sleep.

It's not impossible though. It has been done before, it just takes a lot longer to get into the dream than a WBTB. You are usually looking at an hour or more until lucid dreaming.

No, use whatever position that is comfortable for you. And as for your SP problem, it was probably the fact that the position you were in originally wasn't a very good one for your own needs. And SP can kick in at many different times for different people. Some get it in 10 minutes, some it takes hours, and many in between.

Try a more comfortable position next time, maybe that's your key.

This is a common problem for many trying to WILD. My only suggestion would be to actually swallow. Do it naturally and don't really focus on it too much. Some more solutions exist, such as resting your tongue on the top of your mouth, something like that. There is a thread here someone has made about this exact problem. Find it for some good tips.

Thanks, DILD is my technique of choice, since I don't want to get up in the middle of the night for WILD. Might try it some time again though.

      i don't think i can do a dild.
i've never asked myself in a dream if im dreaming,
except this one time, when my sole purpose was to lucid dream.
i'm not sure how exactly to successfully DILD.
      hey there.
