      Remembering

      Hi,
      I am finding that I am having problems remembering my dreams I have tried all the methods. Though what I found interesting was that I can only remember my dreams from Saturdays, the only day where my alarm doesn't go off. So I think that my alarm is waking me up too quickly and then I lose my dreams.
      Does anyone have any ideas of how I can remember my dreams everyday of the week. All I need is something that will wake me up slowly. Any ideas?

      My best guess would be that you aren't getting enough sleep. For decent dream recall, you need at least a solid 7 hours. Also, when you wake up, hold perfectly still (after turning off your alarm) and try to remember as much as you can before moving. Moving your major muscles causes neurons in the brain to fire, and diverts precious mental resources from the bit of your brain that needs them the most.

      I usually get about 9 hours of sleep so there's no problem there.
      And I don't move any of my major muscles to turn off my alarm.

      I was hoping that I could have an alarm that starts off with very little volume that then gradually builds up volume and then stops, hopefully that would wake me up slowly enough that I don't lose the memory. Is there any other ideas

      Yeah, that would just about do it. Mantras right before going to sleep also help a lot of people. "I WILL remember my dreams" is a great one. You may also want to try drinking some apple juice before bed, as it is known to increase dream vividness.
      Try changing out the alarm clock, and see what happens.

      I had dream last night where I was standing outside and suddenly the world became brighter. I was more self aware. I took a few steps and thought:Is this a dream? Am I lucid?
      But then I woke up. Is that a lucid dream?

      What I do is laying in my bed with my eyes closed and wait. My brain and body thinks it's going back to sleep so it turns all of your dreaming senses back on. So you should remember your last dream, shouldn't take more than a minute or two.
