to DVs Mondo! I too just recently found out about LDing...1 week or two ago, and that's when I joined these forums. I have had an 'ok' dream recall...a few a week. But this isn't good enough for lucid dreaming...(you still can, but you may have a lucid dream and not remember it...that would suck ...but you wouldn't know). Well the night I read about lucid dreaming, I repeated a few mantras. Try repeating as you go to bed: "I will remember my dreams", "I will become lucid in my dreams", or "I will recognise I am dreaming while dreaming, and will become lucid." When I did that the first night, I remember 5 dreams that night! Four of them were the same short nightmare repeated four times throughout the night, which I became lucid in all 4 times near the end of the nightmare! The other one was a good, fun, long dream, but did not become lucid
So, try repeating a few mantras as you go to bed. Oh, and throughout the day I did reality checks. I asked myself throughout the day if I was dreaming or not(ask it seriously...if you say "duh, I am awake", you will do that while dreaming), and do a few reality checks. Common ones are to plug your nose and try and breathe in. If you can, you are dreaming! Another is to look at text or a digital watch(analog won't work), and look at the text, look away for a few seconds. And look back and if the text is the same, try to change it(think of different text while looking at it...). If it changes, you are most likely dreaming!
Hope this helps.
