      New guy

Hey all, I just found this site from Google, and after looking around for a bit, I decided to register.

I've been reading about LD for a better part of a year, but either didn't have the time or the initiative to actually try to make it happen. But last night I had my first LD, I guess it was a DILD that I was reading about. And I was so ecstatic when I woke up that I immediately found a notebook and pen and wrote down what happened.

(This is just paraphrasing it) My mind realized that I was in a dream and I immediately knew what to do. I ran to the first floor of my (Dream) house and ran outside, imagined it was summer (It's winter with snow on the ground at my house.) and it turned into a cool summer evening. I thought about flying, and after a few running jumps (unsuccessful, ill add) while thinking about flying. I just ran into my backyard and thought about flying, no jumping. I floated up into the air, it was amazing!

Since it was my first time, I was really shaky, I got maybe 50-100 feet off the ground, I couldn't go any higher for some reason. I flew around a bit, up and down and in circles, if I remember correctly. and closed my eyes. Which I learned here causes the individual to wake up, which I did. But I was too happy to care.

Sorry about the long-winded introduction, I just thought I should share with you all.

go to the DJ section and get Banhurt's journal (stickied) if you'd like to post it publicly. I'd love to read them all.

Good job on your first LD! You have a dream journal, which is great. It's your choice if you want to post it online or not. Good luck on future lucids!

and Jarrhead, there is a thing called an edit button, you don't need to double post.

You had pretty good control for your very first lucid. Keep it up.

Fantastic! I've been attempting flight in LDs for years, and so far, I fail. Sooooo, I'm going to focus on other things for now, hehe.

If you haven't seen them yet, take a look at some induction techniques on this forum, it's really useful

I might use the help of a banshee to fly. Much easier than just flying. And cooler!

Yeah, I was thinking that next time I try, I'll spawn wings like in Aion (MMO computer game).

Or do what I did last night, non lucid.

Get a briefcase like hitman, deploy it like a COD4/MW2 bomb, then have it grow mario turtle wings and press space to flap the wings. Although it was first person i could feel the rpesence of a spacebar. :p
