      WILD without wbtb?

Is it possible to just skip the first phase of WILD and go straight to relaxation/SP and LD? I was wondering, because that way I could have longer LDs( have to wake up at 6 am for school.

Yes it is possible, but i hear it is supposed to be alot more difficult. You should not worry about realtime effecting how long you will dream. That doesnt matter, time isnt really a factor while your dreaming. A dream that feels like 30 minutes could really only be 5 minutes in realtime.

Do you mean trying to WILD when you first go to sleep at night? It works for some people, but traditionally, is very inconsistent. The problem is, you normally don't have long or stable dreams so early in the night. You can't really force yourself to have a dream (unless you use some supplements or brainwave entrainment). The best you can do is wait for a dream to come to you while you stay conscious and relaxed. Timing is very important.

If you don't have enough time for a WBTB at night, you could try to WILD during a nap. Experiment to find if you have any REM cycles in the afternoon or evening, then just WILD at that time. Sometimes it can be harder to relax and fall asleep during naps.

Either way, it is good practice to WILD whenever you think you are in the mood. You can achieve some awesome states of consciousness, even without becoming lucid. Just don't get frustrated or give up. Think of every WILD attempt as its own independent adventure.
