First time perpusly in sleep paralisis

Hey just thought I would share something semi cool with you guys.... I had never been in SP on purpose before and while im sleeping im to lazy to try but like a couple days ago (and the day after that) in my first period class in school I was sleeping because we were doing these presentations and mine was one of the first so I could just sleep the whole time and I decided to try SP since i still had that hella morning tiredness. So like I tried not to move and like it worked! Like I was laying face down on my desk with everything around me but I did it. Like at first as my mind was drifting away it started to feel like i was falling but slowlyish and I started to think and remember of a ride when I last went to disney land (twilight zone tower drop thing if you guys have ever been on it) and idk why i was thinking of it it might be because i was starting to dream so it was random but then i noticed I couldnt move and kinda freaked out so i started moving my fingers and toes around because somehow that got me out of it. But then I tried it again and decided not to wuss out and like it worked again for some reason so i decided to try to dream and after a couple minutes i had like a 30 second dream it was weird then i woke up... i tried it again the next day once too

kinda random but i thought id share it with you guys if anyone at all is intrested in first time experiences and has anyone ever done that in school? Or felt like they were falling or anything?

I fell asleep in school a couple times and I was able to achieve lucidity briefly, but never SP. Was too difficult to sleep for more than a couple minutes at a time in a classroom. Your SP thing was pretty cool, I don't get that too often, but when I do it is usually early in the morning when I'm trying to get back to sleep, and is usually followed by an LD.

Though I'm impressed you were able to do it lying on a desk lol!

Honestly, I think you picked a pretty good place to try. Something about having a bunch of other people around me made me much more confident of success and not afraid of the SP or weightlessness.

I too am impressed you did it on a desk, though

Actually that's what I thought: Ok so I won't feel all weird like theres something creeping around and noises because theirs obviously a ton of people around me talking. And yeah I tend to be really tired in the morning IDK actually how I did it. I tried it today (we were STILL doing some of the presentations and then my class was watching 'Christmas Story' or w/e that old ass movie for the rest of the period (BLEH) so I had a ton of workless time but it just seemed like I wasn't tired enough this time.

I'm curious as to why those things are so scary at first. I guess it must just be because the logic part of the brain has already begun to shut off by the time anything interesting happens. I've only tried to WILD a few times, but even though I'm not really afraid anymore, there's still some tension involved...strange how that works. I've seen nothing that indicates there's even a little bit that's worth being afraid of

Well I'm not terribly experienced in this yet but I have that problem with just normal getting-to-sleep sometimes. The thing I realized is that I'm focusing on my feelings way too strongly, and I have to just get in the habit of not paying attention to how I feel in order to keep that from happening. From what I can tell, that's going to be the most important part of having a long and vivid LD anyway.

Well yeah but with regular sleep itches usually just cause me to scratch them and roll over or something into a different position but I can't do that with WILD of course...

Also is there just a straight out physical way that I can reduce itching? I know this sounds stupid but do you think wearing a shirt would be less or more itchy while I'm sleeping maybe?

Actually, I find that not wearing a shirt makes me itch less. Maybe it's the shirt though It's worth a shot I guess...but what I personally have to do is just ignore the itch and forget that I'm itching. If you think about it for a second you'll itch. Heck, you're probably starting to itch just reading me talk about itching!

You might want to try practicing this without WILDing or anything...just whenever you normal-rest and the itches come, ignore them and focus on something else. That way it won't be a problem when it gets down to business. You will probably still feel slight itches, but they won't bother you if you learn to ignore them, so the problem is still solved.

I'm just saying what I did for me...so this is what I've found to work, hope it works for you, but just because everyone's different...it may not

Well last night I tried again and this time whenever I itched what seemed to work a little is i used my hand that was laying on my chest and kind of pinched myself as hard as I could stand (IDK but hey it worked) and it took away the itch because I was focusing on were I was pinching myself... I thought I was doing good but I guess I just drifted asleep...

I did though wake up at maybe like 3 in the morning DRENCHED in nasty sticky sweat! Ugh I couldn't get back to sleep... That's only happened to me once (Sweating a HOLE lot in my sleep) What causes night sweats? Does anyone know?

      dear thethetheluis.

I think what causes night sweats is when you're having a bad dream. Im not 100% sure. I know what I'm about to say isn't real but it's worth a shot. In Harry Potter And The Order Of The Pheonix, Harry is sweating ALOT whilst he is having a bad dream about Voldemort.

Well I have heard it can be that, stress, and even if your not living very healthy but IDK. I've always hated Harry Potter.

I tried it last night again and ended up drifting asleep. The only good thing is after like a month I finally remembered a dream I could write down.

lmfao at the Harry Potter reference

Night sweats can also be chemical. As in a certain medicine you're taking, drugs or alcohol, even hormones (like menopause in women). Low blood sugar can also contribute to excess sweating at night. Though neurological causes seem to be the most common.
