      New, yet experienced

Hello, as a first post i thought that an introduction was appropriate

I'm not new to the concept of lucid dreaming at all, I've been lucid dreaming since the age of 12 or 13 (not sure, i have kept no track of any dream ever, not a single word on paper) and had many more lucid dreams than i can count, but this is all though just liking the idea of "Realizing you're dreaming whilst you are dreaming"

I didn't even know of the term "lucid dreaming" until earlier this year when talking to someone about dreams, let alone many of these other terms I'm already seeing around here (WILD and such)

I'm hoping to learn about lucid dreaming here, and how others experience it, as well as possibly help people as it seems the results I've gotten aren't exactly common (I'm at the state where about 40% of dreams now are lucid dreams, and its rising constantly)

Thanks for reading my post, hopefully i haven't rubbed off as arrogant (:

edit: after browsing around and reading a few post, I've found myself unable to understand most posts as there's too much abbreviation i don't understand, anyone able to link me to a quick guide on the general terms/slang?

Welcome to the forums, I hope you learn a lot more than what you already know here =]
Here is a glossary, but I think there is a better one out there http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...light=glossary

Sorry my reply is so simple, it's just that I gotta leave for school or I'll miss my bus.

In your sig you say that you recalled 11 dreams one night?!

I'm sorry but I don't think this is possible.

Most people only go through about 5 rem cycles per night. Plus in order to remember the dreams you would have had to wake up after each of them (unless you have superior memory to all of the rest of the world).

It's 10 AM where I am ha ha. Where do you live?

The way I see it people who post how many lucids they've had is just a way that newbs rank themselves. It gaudy and showoff-ish. You can be satisfied that you're a successful lucid dreaming without showing the whole world that you've had SIX WHOLE LUCID DREAMS OH MY GOD! lol. But do whatever you want, I'm kinda a troll when it comes to certain things.

For people with a low count with myself, it is more exciting than for someone who has LDs regularally enough that they don't take it as anything special. When I hit the point where I can LD consistently, I'll drop my count, till than it is nice to have somewhere to keep track of my last LD at.

Ocassionaly dreams have "Scene Changes" and some people can't distinguish a scene change from a seperate dream.

All depends how long you sleep I have gone up to remembering 16 a night from elongated sleep.

      I woke up every time,
set my alarm at 4:00 am, snooze for 15 minutes. slept until 7.

      I don't disagree, but it's not a separate dream.

And in fact, usually people are aware it is the same dream, they just can't remember where it transitioned to a different scene.

Absolutely possible. Depends on your definition of 'night'.

At about 70 to 90 minutes into your sleep cycle, you enter REM sleep. You usually have three to five REM episodes per night. NOT ELEVEN. It doesn't matter if the guy slept in or went to bed early... the REM cycles get longer the more you sleep, meaning to go through 11 REM cycles (all getting longer and longer) he would practically be asleep all day and night. And in his sig it says "most dreams remembered ONE NIGHT".

Eight hours of sleep gets about four or five REM periods. 16 hours gets about seven or eight. Plus there is non-REM time to account for. Do you see what I'm getting at? P

Not to mention the possibility of waking up after every single dream is slim...

You're assuming he wasn't awakened in the middle of a rem cycle or having dreams during nrem sleep, and that it's an absolute must to wake up in order to remember a dream.

I've had 12 dreams in one night, so I'm sorry- it is possible.

Beyond Reality, I have nothing to prove to you. Believe it or not I was able to recall 11 dreams in one night. I DID wake up after every dream, because my alarm would wake me up every 15 minutes, I would hit snooze and go back to sleep, and have a different dream.
