Patience is key. I haven't had a lucid in quite a while, but I'm okay with that. It'll come, in due time.
As for the original question, the mantra I used to have my first few lucids was "I AM dreaming," with a lot of determination. I like that this one is short, sweet, and to the point. I also like that it is in present-tense. I would be really careful of using any mantra that contains the word "lucid" in it, especially if you're new to this. The reason? The brain packs a whole hell of a lot more meaning and information behind words like dreaming, sleeping, and awareness. You give the unconscious mind the word "lucid," and it isn't quite positive what to do with it.
