      Smile Hello

Hey, just saying hello im new to these forums.

I'm Nineteen, male and from the uk.
Hobbies include: Basketball playing and watching, Skateboarding, Graphic design which im currently studying at university in London, poker and Gym.

For future references my "p" button doesn't work.

My interest in all this happened around a two weeks ago when I had recurring dreams of my friend after he passed away. The third time I dreamt of him I realised I could control my hand movement. Grabbing a DC's shoulder, I woke shortly after falling asleep.

I had my first real experience of lucidity this morning 'Jan 2nd' when my surfboard shrank into a miniture one haha! I was so excited but managed to supress the feeling. I moved my hands around and decided to test out flying and to my suprise I began to float out of the surf, but wasn't in full control of where i was going. Eventually I fell hitting the sand?. I then tested if I could revist Thailand... where i had recently been to last July. Closing my eyes i really willed and tried to envision the scenery changing. When i opened them nothing had happened. When i closed my eyes once more I instantly woke up.

1st question, is closing your eyes a bad idea whilst lucid?

2nd. What is the name for this type of lucid state?

3rd. I've been reading about lucid dreaming for 2 days now and i have two dreams currently in my dream journal starting 2 days ago. Is this normal for me to have had one by now?

      Thanks,

      Harrow

Im a very new LDer so don't take me TOO seriously, but I would advise not closing your eyes, as that always wakes me up.

Try spinning. I spun around in my room and went right to where I wanted to go. I had to rub my hands and I got my senses, such as smell and touch and even my muscle contractions. It's pretty realistic.

I think that's called Layer One lucidity (as put my Reece Jones. Most people aren't fond of the idea of layers.) I can't call of the top of my head if it's Layer One Minor or Major, but that's where you wake up from the excitement of being lucid.

It's not very normal to have a lucid dream yet, at least not one you can control. I think it's quite fine if you noticed you're dreaming.

Shoot for two dreams recalled a night!

Thankyou man, appreciate the input. I'll have to read up on a few things here, as i dont want to be asking basic questions that get asked over and over.

Liking your check list of pandora, when I develope my skills further I will have to attempt these.

Hey man, I'm only three days into LDing. Go for it! Just don't get excited.

Click the dream journal and read my dreams. I had two LDs the first night and two Non-Lucid Dreams the next two nights.

Another goal is to "fight the sky people" haha. But you can only have 10 lines in a sig (yet I have 11! hehehe..)

First Night - Just meet Neytiri/Jake and explore. I actually became Jake. hahaha.
Second Night - Fight the sky people - no pandora dreams
Third Night - Fight the sky people - no pandora dreams.

I don't think i'm ready for such excitement like flying and fighting at once. While being in pandora, with bullets flying at me.. Might just explore.

Haha, I think next time I become lucid, I will attempt to take it slowly and just take in my surroundings. Sound sensible?

Also is there a thread for all the terminology and abbreviations. WILD? LD? etc

      - Basically you become lucid in a dream by normally sleeping

-You wake up at night and go back to sleep. You're aware that you were just sleeping and will be soon.

      Wake
      Back
      To
      Bed

-Wake up, stay away for anywhere from 10 seconds to an hour (varies for people) until you are fully awake, but you'll still be tired. Then go back to sleep cause you'll have a huge chemical buildup that will build your awareness. A lot
