Keep a dream journal, come here often, and do reality checks often. That's all you need really to get a DILD, aside from some patience and determination.

You may also want to read up on MILDing as it can prop up the chances of DILD working.

And I almost forgot to say: Welcome To Dream Views!

Oh, and when you have a dream journal, write everything down, even if you only vaguely remember one flash of one scene in your dream. Because if you don't in at least the first few months, you'll stop remembering a lot of stuff. Trust me, I haven't remembered a thing in weeks.

      Hey John,

Last time I got into a recall draught, I used a mantra which worked out great! I just repeated, "I will remember my dreams" over and over as I fell asleep. Try it, I hope it works for you!

Go to bed at 4 in the morning, then sleep all day.

      Worked for me.

Disclaimer: I cannot actually recommend that you do this.

Man, every thread I write in automatically starts bustling.

And yea, this is all very true. Mantras help me a lot. I got into the habit of doing a recall mantra every night at one point, and when I stopped, my recall was kind of lousy. Not that you HAVE to use mantras though. I'm just less driven, so if my dream is just a fragment I usually fail to write it down.
