      LD issue

      Hey guys,

I've been working at LDing for quite a long time. I can do it and realize im dremaing, but then I always sit there and try and figure out how it works. I've LDed probably about 10 times....none of which I could figure out how to do anything. It semt like my mind was purposly trying to make me think i wasnt dreaming. Can't control anything - its very frusterating. Any tips?

Hi Fodera - welcome to dreamviews

Dream control is all about belief and expectation. If you expect things to work the way you want, they will.
      It's all in your head

It sounds to me as if you're trying too hard to 'figure it out' and not just doing it. It's not a complicated thing - its a 'just do it and expect it to happen' thing.

Anyway, here's a post I sent to one of my adoptees on the subject. Maybe it can help you:

Dream control is all about belief and expectation ... you need to 'know' that you can do it, not just 'think you can' *
Take it for granted that dream control is easy, because it really is *
Other people with problems will begin to erode away at your knowledge of how easy it is *

If you want something to happen, just expect it to happen. Don't overcomplicate it or try to qualify why - just DO it! *
It really is easy, and there's nothing difficult about it... *

The people who have problems with dream control, simply need practice to learn that very simple fact. All the dream control methods are the same and consist of either making something easier to believe and expect, or to increase belief and expectation itself. *

As an example, if you want something, eg lets say a small notebook, there are 2 main points to doing it: *
      1. Realise it's easy. It's all about knowing you can do it, and because it's your dream - why wouldn't it be. Don't question or overcomplicate it with technicalities - just do it. This increases your expectation/belief levels. *
      2. Do it in the most obvious, realistic way possible. For example, you wouldn't ordinarily expect the notebook to materialise in front of your eyes. That just doesn't happen in reality. Rather, put your hand into your pocket, and pull it out. It's conceivable that it was there the whole time *
When it's an easier to believe situation, it's easier to expect it to work ... Lowering the 'difficulty level' of the task at hand. *

Out of those two points, it might be worth mentioning a nifty trick that I use on occasion, called 'shortcuts' *
Let's say you need to fly, but can't get off the ground. You could do something like this: *

Look down, and wow... theres a box at your feet that you didn't notice before . *
Open the box, and inside you find a flying device (jetpack, antigrav boots, levitation medicine, whatever feels good for you) *
Use it, and away you go. I mean, its designed to fly, so why wouldn't it *
THEN... now that you're flying, you come to realise 'This device is all part of my imagination! It's really me doing all the work, this thing doesn't exist...'. You can then throw it away, and continue what you're doing, in the knowledge that you definitely have the ability to fly. *

Now, as I mentioned, this is just another example of what I mentioned before - being put into practice. The device is easy to believe in, and easy to expect to fly. That's why it's easier for it to work, and to get over the mental block. *

Hope you get the idea, and it helps *

Don't mind me, Placebo has pritty much covered this lol

I'll just add my support and that hanging in there with practice and study is the key. Don't stress yourself either, pace it.
