      hello!

      Hi everyone,
I found this forum by accident. I've had lucid dreams very often for ever since I can remember, but didn't know that there was such a big community devoted to it! I've read through the main page and I'm glad to see there are lots of techniques to help me have them more often, remember them, and to exert more control over them. It was cool to see how many of the things that I've learned by myself are also used by the community.
For example, in the case of dream signs, once I had a dream where I was talking with my grandpa who passed away a couple of years ago. Even though I knew that I was sleeping, it was so real that I didn't know if I was "communicating with the dead" or if it was just a dream that was inside of my own brain. So in the dream, I asked him to tell me something that I don't already know, and he couldn't, then my dream ended.
Just last night I had a dream where I was flying - and I'm not talking about flap your wings flying, but like full out DBZ style flying where I was going head first and extremely fast. This was really exciting for me because normally when I have dreams of flying, I have difficulty controlling when I fly, and most of the time it's more like I'm floating than flying.
I was also fascinated by the "collective dreaming" thing, because I've always thought how amazing it would be to join with someone and do cool shit(this idea surprisingly came from a dream). Even though I'm pretty skeptical about if this is even possible, I'm willing to give it a try.

Anyway, pretty long introduction - I'm just excited to find a community devoted to this! I look forward to sharing some of my experiences and also reading about other people's dreams.

      Welcome !

I only joined a few days ago, I gotta say that there are a lotta helpful people on this site, sounds like you'll be able to lucid dream more easily than others. Ahahah, I know what you mean about flying in dreams, whenever I do it it takes a lot of effort, It's like swimming into the air...

      Anyway, welcome newbie!

Flying I agree can be difficult, the scariest part for me when I lucid dream is that I go too high, I can actually feel butterflies in my stomache! Flying can be used to change the dream too, you should try it...use it like a mode of transportation...fly to somewhere you want to be....it'll change the dream and give you better control. I like you never thought people dreamnt the way I did, and to find a community? Its awesome!

Woot, you're from Ottawa!! What area are you from (if you're alright with me asking)? I lived there for 4 years. Dad was in the military, so we lived in Rockliffe Park

I am the same as you, lucid dreams just come naturally, my problem is getting out of them!

It'd make more sense if he were stationed in Kingston. Both great cities, so it matters not!

Hi everyone. This is my first post on here as well. I have been having lucid dreams for a long time and can always control them. I was just wondering if anyone had any idea roughly what percentage of people are capable of this without actively trying? I'm ecxited to learn more and maybe even gain a higer level of control.

I'm in downtown Ottawa. I have a few friends who's parents are in the army and used to live in Rockliffe too. Ottawa's not a bad city, but a little too small for my tastes.
