Thread: How does a Dream Journal help you remember dreams?

Sorry, the question was worded wrong.

Like, I don't see how writing down previous dreams helps you realize you're in a dream(not lucid-like, just seeing your normal dream)
For example: During a non-lucid dream, you can see it, whether from third person or not. Don't you need to see your dreams in them, to remember them?

How can you see your dream while it's happening, before waking up?
