I just can't sleep... please help.

Before you read, I'd appreciate it if you could answer all the questions I have, thanks.

OKay.... i tried to sleep side ways hugging on to those pillows that looks like a pillar wrap my feet around it and lay down my hand, and rest my head on pillow so the saliva will spill on it.... well SP has a lower chance of occuring in this pose.... and the thing is it doesn't work.
Beforehand I started at 3:00 and by the time it's 3:30 I had not yet slept.... and then I lost consciousness for about 3-5 minute..... I didnt notice it... I didnt dream.... and All I felt was waiting to dream again... and moments later I realized I had lost consciousness prior to that.... so the WILD thing failed..
And my bad for making a lot of posts

So the thing is I'll wait and do MILD when I go to sleep..
But can anyone please help me? What do you do when you try to go to sleep?

I just lay down back against the floor head on pillow hand lay down...... and relax........ i cant really relax...... since it's just natural and no matter waht I do nothing changes.

I'll do a last RC check before I go to sleep.... that wont happen in a while
Chant mantra before I lay down.. go down and chant mantra for a while and stop......... and what do I do now? Wait? be specific please? provide your input and experience regarding it? Thank you.

And for the sake of easing my doubts.... how does it feel when you are attuned and in control fo the dream? is it real time like you actually wake up and see your room when you have false awakening? Or does it just go really fast... or do you just realize it when you wake up.
And can you also please tell me how RCing wil laffect the dream? Like if you RC... you will automatically RC in dreams?.... because I feel that dreams just move on its own pace without input... but then again I only started RCing yesterday 3 hours prior to bed and i didnt have a lucid dream.
And how can you time your REM wake up call for WBTB technique?

And I'd also like an input from people who've had lucid dreams... how long does it last and does your awareness of time persist?*Real-time*

In order to Sleep paralysis and get a link to WILD.... does it matter if occasionaly my breathing is irregular? because that happens when I experience different sensation and I get excited that i might be getting into a dream, and can I just think whatever I want? As long as my body is still it will SP sooner or later right? Though ive waited for as long as 30 min with no results.

I realized that SP might be hard or impossible unless you just woke up from a dream or sleep during mid night or during REM... so that's why my attempts have failed... though I dont see how taking a nap..... oh right..... I did a WILD at 1pm or so and it didnt work.... does that mean that I take it AFTER i woke up from a afternoon nap? and can i do it anytime after i wake up and not limited to afternoon?
And how can I last untill my body SP.

I think more people would respond if you would make it a bit clearer

Okay. First of all there is a Sleep Paralysis Tutorial which could help you. Anyway, it is not necessary to enter sleep paralysis to WILD. In addition to that, you can swallow when you WILD. It's okay. Lie in you favorite position, the one that you normaly sleep in will work best I think. Then just relax, start counting you breath's and see how far you get. Don't be to uncertain. Just let it happen. It will work better when you got more sleep before, at least 7 hours I recommend

Beforehand I started at 3:00 and by the time it's 3:30 I had not yet slept....

It can take very long to enter SP sometimes, sometimes it goes very fast, just keep trying.

and then I lost consciousness for about 3-5 minute.....

That's indeed no problem. It's okay loosing consciousness for such periods of time. If you notice it, just get back on focusing on you breathing or whatever you do to keep you mind aware

I didnt notice it... I didnt dream.... and All I felt was waiting to dream again... and moments later I realized I had lost consciousness prior to that.... so the WILD thing failed..

Say the Mantra in you head, about 5 minutes or so. Then imagine having a lucid dream. Then just go to sleep like you do always.

If you have trouble falling asleep in the evening, try to do sports at day and don't move when you are lying in bed.

Chant mantra before I lay down.. go down and chant mantra for a while and stop......... and what do I do now? Wait?

After saying the mantra in you head just go to sleep like on a very normal day. Just lay down and sleep

be specific please? provide your input and experience regarding it? Thank you.

And for the sake of easing my doubts.... how does it feel when you are attuned and in control fo the dream?

      It feels very amazing

is it real time like you actually wake up and see your room when you have false awakening? Or does it just go really fast... or do you just realize it when you wake up.

You dream in real time, it's just like you are in the real world, just that you can do whatever you want without consequences

And can you also please tell me how RCing wil laffect the dream?

If you Reality Check during the day you will start to do it in you dream after a while, too. You will realise that you are dreaming then and have a lucid dream

Like if you RC... you will automatically RC in dreams?.... because I feel that dreams just move on its own pace without input... but then again I only started RCing yesterday 3 hours prior to bed and i didnt have a lucid dream.

Doing a Reality Check in you dream just occurs randomly, it is not a method that is as save as MILD or WILD But it's far more easy, as you just have to do RC's during the day, whenever you notice something strange etc.

And how can you time your REM wake up call for WBTB technique?

Just get enough sleep before, then wake yourself after 7 hours or so. You don't have to hit your REM-Cycle for WBTB-Techniques, it's only important for DEILD

And I'd also like an input from people who've had lucid dreams... how long does it last and does your awareness of time persist?*Real-time*

Lucid Dreams can last like normal dreams, from 5 minutes to 25 minutes or so. The later in the night you are, the longer you REM-Cycle is.

In order to Sleep paralysis and get a link to WILD.... does it matter if occasionaly my breathing is irregular?

Irregular Breathing is nice. It is absolutely no problem.

because that happens when I experience different sensation and I get excited that i might be getting into a dream, and can I just think whatever I want? As long as my body is still it will SP sooner or later right?

Yes you can think whatever you want, but I recommend you to focus on something simple, like your breathing, so you won't loose consoiusness, well again read the Sleep Paralysis Tutorial I posted above

Though ive waited for as long as 30 min with no results.

It can take hours to get into SP sometimes, but often it only takes 20-45 minutes

I realized that SP might be hard or impossible unless you just woke up from a dream or sleep during mid night or during REM...

Yes, indeed it is nearly impossible to do it in the evening. Try WILDing either in the late night after a lot of sleep or in the afternoon like 2/3 PM

so that's why my attempts have failed... though I dont see how taking a nap..... oh right..... I did a WILD at 1pm or so and it didnt work

WILDing is difficul, especially if you never had a lucid dream before. I highly recommend to start with DILD or MILD for the beginning Check out the very good tutorial section

.... does that mean that I take it AFTER i woke up from a afternoon nap? and can i do it anytime after i wake up and not limited to afternoon?
And how can I last untill my body SP.

Okay I think I answered a lot of your Questions. Please do the following for me:

      1. Check out the Tutorial Section

      2. Take 1 Method that you think sounds nice and easy

      3. Stay on that one method for a while and don't try 5 techniques at the same time

      4. Pleeeease do a shorter and clearer post the next time A lot more people will answer your Questions then

Good Luck with you Lucid Dreams in the future, I hope I could answer at least some of your Questions

      Cheers

Well I'm afraid I can't answer any of your lucid dreaming questions because I haven't actually had a lucid dream yet, but as for getting to sleep - try getting up and reading magazine for a little while. It is "easier" than reading a book because there is no plot or characters to concentrate on. Also try taking the magazine into a different room, like your living room. I find a "change of scenery" helps me when I can't sleep.

Could it be that you're too excited about the concept of lucid dreaming, and this is keeping you awake? I had the same problem on the first night I tried to LD.

So far I have found that WILD doesn't work for me; it is supposed to be a lot harder than MILD so I would just concentrate on MILD for the time being. However, of course everyone is different so you might find WILD easier!

Lastly, and most importantly, don't get too obsessed with lucid dreaming. If you can't sleep at all then try thinking about something completely different. Non-LD sleep is better than no sleep at all (I learned that the hard way). Just relax...

      Hope that helps!
