      Talking Inspired, sounds awesome!

I've been reading up on Lucid Dreaming, and I've been trying to keep a dream journal for the past few days. However, my dream recall is pretty bad, and I've only managed to note down 1 dream in my dream journal so far.

Really excited about this, the possibilities are pretty much limitless (it's sort of like the film, the matrix, where Neo is only limited by his mind).

Just read Dream Recall Tutorial to try and work out why my recall is so bad. I'm a really chilled out guy, so stress wouldn't be affecting my recall, and I'm pretty healthy and hardly ever eat before bed so it won't be that, I'm guessing I just need to keep working at it and it will come quicker eventually. Did any of you guys/gals find that just noting dreams down in the morning if you remembered them helped develop your recall?

      Cheers,
      Fraser

just rely on yourself and sooner or later your dream recall will improve. At the beginning the hardest thing seem to be that you really get up and write something down you remember - no matter how unimportant it seems to be and how tired you are. One single word or some lines crossing each other on the paper are just what you want to find early in the morning. It doesn't have to be complete stories... Just have determination and patience.

recall is all about consistency. even if you remember only a few details, or just a mood, or a color when you wake up. write it down. it amazes me how much i remember if i can just remember one little bit of a dream. you will get it in a few weeks if not days. just keep on workin!

Hi, welcome to the board. I have the same problem as you -- bad dream recall. Most of my DJ entries are "I did not remember my dreams from last night." DON'T GIVE UP. I know this is a big problem for me but I am not going to quit. Just try to remember as much as you can.

Wait, so you even write in your DJ if you didn't remember anything? I guess that makes sense actually

Hey, good to see a new face around DV. I'd follow the advice you've been given so far: keep keeping your dream journal, and your recall will improve. How much sleep to you get each night? I have to get enough sleep each night, which is 6-8 hours, or I will only be able to recall one dream a night, instead of, say, two or three, or more. Last night I recalled three dreams, though I didn't write them down. The past couple of nights, I wasn't getting quite enough sleep, and as such wasn't recalling any dreams at all. That's my bit of helpfulness.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

you remind me of me when I started...

Don't worry, the dream recall should pick up eventually. It might not be some "Wrong" thing you are doing, rather a lack of practice. Good luck,

      And welcome.

Well I don't write much but I think it is OK to. I can figure out any problems I have with dream recall. You don't have to do it but its my personal preference.

Since I started I've recalled 3 dreams, on Feb 1st, 5th and just recorded last night's. I'm writing them after they happen, hopefully I'll have a better dream recall in the next month or two!
