Talking Newb just saying hello and sharing a bit

Hello everyone! I'm Beerai. First off, I'm pretty excited about this. I'm mostly excited just at the idea of lucid dreaming but also because I think I might have had a few (some even intentionally induced when I was younger) and I'd like to share them

I think my first one was years ago when I was just a little kid and still wet the bed. I knew how awful it was for my parents and I was getting pretty sick of it too so I trained myself to nod my head every time I was standing in front of a toilet bowl. You see, most of the time when I wet the bed I'd be dreaming that I was in front of a toilet. Eventually, I had a dream where I was standing in front of the bowl and I started nodding. After a few seconds, I felt the pillow on the side of my face! After a few more seconds I felt the drool on the pillow and woke up without having wet the bed. Problem solved lol.

Now, a little about me. I LOVE my sleep and am naturally a fairly lazy person. Anyway, about a year or two ago I'd have to get up fairly early for school. I would hear my alarm go off (not your normal alarm clock. I set up my pretty beafy stereo to play a linkin park cd or something) but instead of getting out of bed I would remain in that in between state and I would will myself to get up, without physically doing it. I would go about getting ready for school only to wake up, still in bed and realize that all of the preparation that I've been doing has been in a dream

Now to the present (and I'm sorry for the reeeeeally long post). I read about the site yesterday or possibly the day before. I thought I should give it a go but wasn't too serious and hadn't worked on dream recall or keeping a journal. Last night I had 3 or 4 dreams, all of which I could recall for a small amount of time and 1 of which I think I might have had control over my actions. It was pretty awesome. Anyway, recently I've changed to a temporary sleeping arrangement and I wake up a lot more during the night (before I'd just sleep like a log in my comfortable bed but this new one isn't that comfortable) and my sleep is much lighter.

Lol this really is going on and on isn't it Sorry for that, I'll be done soon. I had a nap the other day and it was one of those where you don't know if you fell asleep or not. I had a dream that I was being chased. Something was thrown at me and I jumped out of the way. I woke up when I felt that I had jerked. Is this a sign of LDing? I was aware of the bed and I think I was awake but I jerked at something in my dream meaning I wasn't expecting it.

Oh, one last thing, what does HI stand for? I figured out that SP is Sleep Paralysis but can't figure out HI yet.

Well that's it for me I think. Can't wait to chat with you all and try this out!

HI is "hypnotic images" they are the colors you see flashing under your eyelids when you are attempting a WILD.

Good luck on your quest to LD, I just had my first one last night.

Welcome to Dream Views! I'm also like you haha, it takes a lot to get me up.

Good luck with achieving a lucid dream!

Hello, welcome and good luck with your dreams! I too used to "will myself to get up" without doing it, I usually just touched the ground with my foot and imagined myself walking down the stairs.

Thanks guys. Last night I was trying to stay as still as possible (someone said if you stayed really still you could go into SP) and I had one of those feelings where it felt like your body was flipping. Similar to lying in bed after being in the ocean and still being able to feel the waves. I had 4 dreams and woke up after each one but couldn't remember enough to write anything down I knew I had a dream and it felt like it was on the tip of my tongue as it were but couldn't remember.

Same here. I'm having a hard time recalling my dreams, but I'll constantly practice.
