      First Lucid Dream

I had well...my second lucid dream. I've been off and on with trying to develop lucidity. The past couple weeks I've been on. Before that it was 4 years ago. Back then, I had my first one, but it is was so short because my roomate woke me up I didn't really count it. Needless to say, I was PISSED.

Anyway, a couple nights ago, I tried to do a WILD and woke up 5 hours after I went to sleep. I went back to bed, but I wasn't able to go through with staying up while my body fell asleep. Oddly enough, it wasn't until I was in the dream that I realized I was dreaming (DILD I think). It was so AMAZING! I was at my old school and then I just thought about it and was like...hey, why the heck am I here? I suspected I was dreaming. Then as I was walking up some steps, I was approached my a guy who started talking to me. I thought that it seemed so real even though I shouldn't be there, so I pinched myself lightly and couldn't feel it. Then I knew for sure I was dreaming. The man stopped talking and I looked up cuz I definitely wanted to fly.
I saw an object in the sky, like a helmet or something. I jumped but landed back down. Then I jumped again and this time I flew up to the object. Then I looked down and I was above the ocean. I freefalled down just a few feet above, and then flew forward at that hight as I was passing powerlines and going under bridges. It was like nothing I've ever experienced. Then I did a little skateboarding even though I don't know how to skateboard lol.

Unfortunately, I knew that I had to get up soon because I had some homework that was due soon, so I sorta made myself get up. I don't know how, but I do know that thats what I was trying to do. So that was that.

It's great to be able to identify when you're dreaming while in the dream because that way you don't disturb your rest, but at the same time, it doesn't seem like a very structured way to go about gaining lucidity. I don't know how to make myself realize I'm dreaming. It seemed random this time and I want to be able to do it everytime or a lot of times at least.

      Thanks for reading.

Do you do reality checks throughout the day? Because this helps with putting your brain in the mindset for testing out reality and therefore your brain is more likely to realise when things aren't right (when you are dreaming). Otherwise you'll just have to rely upon spontaneous lucidity which is how you got this DILD. There are plenty of helpful tutorials which can help you train your mind into realizing you are dreaming
