It varies. Sometimes dreams can be vivid and realistic, other times they won't be. Drinking apple juice apparently helps vividness.

Lucidity is really just being conscious and aware you are in a dream. If you ever are aware you are in a dream, rub your hands to "stabilize" the dream.
Then you can really get the most out of it.

Again, if you are aware you are asleep, you were lucid. Sometimes some lucid dreams can be weaker than others.

I don't know about this, but often I just say to myself "I am lucid" over and over.
