      Thumbs up Welcome

I am also new here and have not yet attained lucidity but I suggest that you try Infinity it is a 2 week course that teaches you how to lucid dream, you cam find it at http://ld4all.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=33619. I have been using and it is helping(i have been falling asleep much faster than normal). Also definitely keep a dream journal, where you write all of your dreams in and if you do not have a dream that remember for a day just write about lucid dreaming and what you plan to do that day to attain it. Make sure that you keep this book close to your bed and DON'T get up to go to the bathroom or anything until you have at least written the basic dream down. Good luck to you and I hope you enjoy the Dream Views website and lucid dreaming. By the way, the one most important thing to do to attain lucidity is really believe that you can and eventually you will. About the reality checks all I can say is do them periodically at least 5 or 6 times a day preferably more and really ask yourself if you are dreaming. A few reality checks I often use are listed below...

      1. Look at your hands carefully for a few seconds and make sure that they look normal, often hands look distorted in dreams.
      2. Look at text memorize it and then look at it again, preferably twice. %75 of the time the text will have changed in a dream if you look again once and %95 percent of the time if you look twice.
      3. Try to move a small object with your mind, in dreams this is possible.
      4. Ask yourself if you are dreaming, and look at your surroundings, do you recognize this place, have you ever been here?
      5. Ask yourself what you have been doing for the past hour, if you can't remember or were very far away recently then you are dreaming.
      6. Try to push your finger through an object, you can only do this is dreams.
      7. Block your nose and try to breathe, since in dreams you are not really blocking your physical nose, you will still breathe.

If you do these reality checks enough throughout your waking hours you will eventually begin to do them in your dreams and hopefully become lucid. Good luck and I hope you attain lucidity as I am attempting to do.

Thanks morbid73 I just tried to sum up what I have been reading the past few days into a few paragraphs. Listen I read your first LD I thought it was pretty cool how you got lucid by realizing that you were breathing under water.
