New to Dream View, and also having some trouble WILDing.

Hey guys, I'm new here to Dream View. I've been pretty much lurking and stalking this forum for the past week or so. I've just recently been interested in lucid dreaming, as I had a lucid dream a few weeks ago. In the dream, I realized I was dreaming, but unfortunately had no control whatsoever. So, I came upon this site, and I was instantly hooked.

I've been trying to WILD for the past few nights or so, however, my attempts have proved unsuccessful. I get too restless when I try and relax. I do deep breathing, and relax each part of my body one by one. However, I always have the urge to move, and I never seem to be able to get into SP. There was one night where I think I got into SP. I felt my body going numb, and slight vibrations. Then, I felt that I needed to swallow, so I did, and all that went away. I need help and tips for relaxation, or any other technique that is easier.

Thanks, and I hope you guys answer my question. (:

Welcome! I have never (yet) been able to WILD either. And after half a century of living, and dreaming, I have never really experienced SP. But I discovered an interesting website yesterday that really seems to have some concise information on succeeding with WILD and will try again. He has answers and directions that pertain exactly to the points you mentioned. Lucidology.com. I'd be interested in what others have to say about that site, pro or con.
I have been trying to master OBEs for decades but have refocused on to lucid dreaming in recent years. Have had several DILDs over the years but too few and far between and usually not much control.

      Thank you!

I might check out the site later on.

How did you manage to DILD?

You should try for DILD first

It is much easier to start with than WILD.

I'd take any information you find on that site with a pinch of salt, it got some bad press in this thread. There are hundreds of different techniques and variations on here you'd be better to take a look at, rather than sticking rigidly to one person's instructions.
      And welcome!

It takes time and persistence to learn LD techniques. Some people get a sort of beginner's luck and have an LD the first day they find out about it (I did it n the first few days I started trying) - but that's usually just a super-quick dream and then they don[t get another one for a few months usually. My second LD happened almost exactly a month after that first random one. It's now been half a month since then and I:m still trying to have my third.

So just tick with it... read the tutorials section in here and get Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming - the bible of lucidity.

      Don't give up... it'll happen!
