      Question SP Question

      Hello!

This is my first post here... I have lurked for quite some time. I have read just about every single tutorial here. I have been improving my DR and I keep a DJ that I write in every day. I am going to go about doing a WILD, so I am practicing SP before I get any sleep. I can get to the border, where I feel like I don't have a body. Is it normal to have your heart rate increase by uber amounts right as you "disconnect" from your body? Because this seems to happen to me every time, and I get a big adrenaline rush. No matter what I tell myself I still get this to happen and I can't stop it. I take this for about 10-20 seconds, and then I stop because it gets too intense. Should I push through this? I am wondering if I should be doing this SP thing, because I here all of this stuff about scary HI. (I have gotten HI as long as I can remember, just haven't known what it was until recently. I get the swirling/phasing colors/energies.) I hear people having horrible stuff like someone about to kill them, etc... I was wondering if this is a common thing people have happen to them.

      Any suggestions?

      Thanks!

      Welcome to Dreamviews BlakeE45!

If you are getting anxious or hyped from the expectation of Sleep Paralysis - as far as I can decipher - if indeed that is your problem, you can try to desensitise (best word I can think of to describe the concept) yourself to the actual experience of sleep paralysis by repeatedly going to the brink of entering SP, and breaking it with a short motion, clench your fist a number of times, rubbing the palms of your hands with your fingers, cross and uncross your legs et cetera. to reset your sleep paralysis a number of times without having to go through the entire process of relaxing, with a bit of persistence you may be able to calm this "rush" you are experiencing. If I have mistaken your original question I apologise and that there may be another better suited to your question than I.

Even if I did not answer your question, I found familiarising myself with the process of sleep paralysis helped my WILDing to an extent, and this may or may not be something that aids you immediately, or immensely; otherwise, good luck

I get lost in my own mind, I quite enjoy it, but occasionally I get lost in other peoples minds. That is not so fun I am warning you.

I am not a psychiatrist, and I am not in need of a psychiatrist ... I hope

That was one of the questions I asked. I thank you for answering that one!

My main question out of this was if scary HI is common.

      Thanks again!

Sorry, I can only guess whether HI is commonly scary. I would dare to venture that if everyone on the forum posted about their low intensity HI that was nothing special or breath taking, it would swamp/bury the occurances where people see violent images or experience high intensity HI and post about it. Try a forum search sometime. Scanning and searching techniques are invaluable tools when seeking information, and better to learn early than late, and so much more beneficial, even outside of reading about Lucid Dreaming!
