      Hello Everyone. :)

Hello everyone. My name is Justin, and I am a 25 year old guy from upstate New York.

As you can probably tell from my user name I am a big fan of the Dune novels.

Well I've been fascinated with lucid dreaming ever since my friend in highschool described his lucid dreams to me. He first became lucid during a dream when he realized "this can't be real, why can't I remember what happened yesterday." Well he created his own cue - every hour on the hour he would reach into his pocket, pull out a penny, and look at both sides of put it back. He would think about what happened the day before and if he could remember, he concluded he was awake. He did this for about a month until he started to have more lucid dreams.

The reason I want to lucid dream may sound like a really silly one. I've recently developed a massive crush on someone who doesn't even exist. lol It sounds really really silly but I have a bit of a boyhood crush on Neytiri from the movie avatar. Now I'm not aiming for outright sexual dreams per se. But I have a very busy schedule IRL which doesn't afford me a lot of time to spend with people. I guess I'm looking for a little company.

I also want to relive a dream I had a couple of times a few months ago. It was so beautiful the only way I could describe it was the Elysian Fields.

Anyway, I plan to use the penny method (I'm going to use an old wheat penny) and will spend about 10 minutes a day studying pictures of Neytiri until I can recall her in detail in my mind.

So that's my plan. I'd appreciate it if some more experienced dreamers would give me some feedback on this. If I'm being completely puerile and misusing the whole lucid dreaming thing and should just put these idea away let me know now. I'd hate to screw my synapses up or something.

      Thank you all.

      Hey Feyd! to DV!

First of all, the penny method doesn't sound very solid to me. I suggest you read through this tutorial:

Another very important thing to do when you start off is to keep a dream journal. By keeping a dream journal you'll learn to remember your dreams and if you can't remember your dreams... Well, then there is a chance that you'll have a lucid dream without remembering it. At first it might be hard to remember your dreams but with a little bit of pratice and habit you'll start remembering more and more. Write down or take notes of dreams as soon as you wake up. If you don't you forget most of them in the moring. As your recall improves you'll notice that many of your dreams have a certain structure or reoccuring themes. Read through your DJ often and try to look for dream signs (people, places, objects, feelings, etc that often appear in your dreams) Once you start recognizing some dreamsigns you'll have an easier time becoming lucid.

Other tips: Get at least 8 hours of sleep. Think about LDing as much as possible but don't stress it. Expect success but don't get discouraged if you don't get results immidiately. Be consistent with your dream journaling, it will pay off.

Regarding your goals: Sex lucids can be very hard to maintain control of. Stabilization is a necessity (IMO) if you wanna have lucid dream sex.

      Best of luck!
