      Hello

      Hey guys.

I recently discovered the concept of lucid dreaming when I searched for the word "dream" in Wikipedia. I found the whole thing pretty interesting, and after doing a quick Google search I stumbled here. For the past three days I have been amazed by this whole lucid dreaming thing and have been browsing these forums and reading tutorials. This community seems pretty user-friendly, and I'm hoping that I can gradually become a frequent lucid dreamer.

I have read through a good bit of tutorials, and found out that right now, as a beginner, the best way for me to start out is by doing the following:

1- Keeping a dream journal. This should help me recall dreams more frequently and possibly increase my awareness in future dreams.
2- Doing a good deal of RCs during the day. This will gradually become a habit, and I'll be becoming lucid in dreams more often.
3- Becoming aware of my surroundings. This should help me become aware in future dreams, meaning that I can better recall them and become more frequently lucid.

From what I understand, it seems like the best thing for me right now is going with the DILD and MILD induction methods. After getting the hang of lucid dreaming, I'll gradually start trying out other methods.

Is my approach a good one? Should there be anything else I should do? Did I overlook anything?

Your replies are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You have a good approach, very organized. I wouldn't know what to add or change. If you keep this up, I'm sure you will have your first lucid dream soon.

Approach sounds good to me. Just remember to have fun with it and don't get frustrated if things don't go well at first. Stay positive, keep practicing, and working hard and I'm sure you will succeed. Also, whenever you RC, look around you and ask yourself, "How do I know I am awake and not asleep?" Question reality during waking life, and you will question it during the dream state as well. Good luck to you!
