      Hello.

I'm very unfamiliar with this sort of thing, even so that I'm having a bit of an iffy starting this post off. I’ve always had a bit of a trouble sleeping, but never to the point where I’ve had to make a big deal out of it. I don’t normally remember my dreams; or moreover, I most ordinarily don’t dream.

Last night I woke up in the same place I fell asleep, which would be the couch in my living room, and shut off my laptop. To me this is incredibly real at the time, I am a bit dizzy, and really tired, though, my thoughts are all over the place. I walk to the bathroom, do what’s normal and decide to put on my PS3 and play for a bit. The TV won’t start, however, and I reason with that it must be broken so I decide to turn on my laptop again. I understand the battery’s depleted and hook up the loading device, but it’s not working. I flick the light switch, but no lamps turn on. So something is noticeably wrong, because nothing in my room is working. I run up the stairs to my brother’s part of the apartment, and everything’s fine so I start up his console and play for a bit, nothing out of the ordinary. I get thirsty, go to the fridge, but it’s completely empty. At the time I didn’t find this that strange, so I put on my clothes and run out the door to go to 7Eleven to buy Dr. Pepper like I always would. I fall down the stairs into the ground, so I reason I’ve slipped, and when I look up I’m greeted with unending horizons of nothing but snow. Fields of snow, with an oddly shaped mountain, curled like a pig’s tail in the distance, and all I can hear is the wind. The stairs I fell from were no longer there, neither was my house. I freaked out, because this was like I previously mentioned, reality to me, not the usual hazy dreams I would sometimes have. But before I know it, I wake up on my couch again; awake for the rest of the night, wondering what the hell had just happened.

Was this a lucid dream, or am I starting to get schizophrenic? Does anyone even have an answer to what this might mean? Do I need to get out more?

Today I went searching the (lo and behold; technology!) internet for an answer, and I found this website. I came looking for an answer, and read up on lucidity, and was hoping someone here might be able to tell me if this is something out of the ordinary. I want it to happen again, now that I know that it’s possible to control. So hello everyone, I hope that I can find the will to succeed.

      Signed,

Hey welcome to dreamviews! I dont think you were lucid, if you know you are dreaming then you are lucid. Also dont worry your not schizophrenic you just had a wierd dream, read up on the tutorials on here and start keeping a dream journal next to your bed and write down any dreams asap before you forget them.

When I started trying to LD about 2 months ago I would only remember maby one dream a month, now i remember 4 or 5 a night. Once you get good dream recall and start practising some techinques im sure youl be lucid in no time! It took me a month to have my first lucid, now iv had 6 in the last month since then.

      Good Luck dreaming!

Ok, thanks. I've never really had a dream quite like it, not as real, and I figured it might've been one of those false wake-ups. I've already started reading the tutorials, hoping to start creating my world soon.
