      Hello All!

Hi! I'm new here. I just joined yesterday. I had heard about lucid dreams a while ago and came to this forum, but never got into it. I did have one lucid dream that I could and still remember partially, although it was very short.
I wanted to actually give lucid dreaming a try before I posted anything; however, I failed on my first attempt. I had downloaded all of the audio aids that are posted here and at first I thought that would be enough, but I decided to try a WILD.
I was listening to the audio aids while trying to fall asleep while lying perfectly still, but after 45 minutes, my whole body was numb and I was still awake. I decided I would just try to fall asleep normally, but that didn't work either.
I probably got 3 hours of sleep last night in total and I didn't notice if I was having a dream or not. Has this happened to anyone else? Could it be that I was just too excited? Or should I not listen to the audio aids until I'm in REM?
Thanks for your help. Hopefully tonight I will be able to at least have a regular dream or at least sleep.

      Hi welcome to Dream views!
Don't worry, lucid dreams aren't always easy. Read through the tutorials, everyone here is real friendly so you can always ask them anything
Also, do not buy anything that says it will "create lucid dreams", this website is good because it doesn't sell rubbish, everything is freee that was just a word of warning for other sites. The audio tapes sound interesting, maybe you should alternate, so one night you use it and one night you don't, to see what works better

Okay. I usually don't buy things anyway. I always try to see if I can get them for free. And I'll try not listening to them tonight. Hopefully that might help.

Just keep trying lots of different methods, like reality checks and stuff, variation may help you realise that you are dreaming OOh also, do you keep a dream diary?? If not you should start writing them down, I do it in a notebook so I can do sketches and sturrff. Or you could always make one on here if you wanted

Yeah. I was planning on making one on here today, but I never had a dream last night. And tonight I'm going to try another WILD and if it works, I'll start a dream journal tomorrow, if it doesn't, I guess I'll try another method tomorrow night.

If you are attempting a WILD (and sounds like you were) it is recommended you attempt it with WBTB or during a day time nap. WILDing upon first going to sleep is never recommended. Try attempting after 4+ hours of sleep or during a nap, 1-8 hours after waking in the morning for best results.

I had my first lucid dream last night. It was very short, but it was still lucid. It was a basic DILD. I was on the computer and noticed blurry text and thought that I must be dreaming and then woke up. I had a while before I had to get up for school, so I was going to attempt a WILD, but I didn't feel like it, so I just went back to sleep. I woke up later and wanted to see how much longer I had and I wanted to try a WILD for real, but I had to wake up in like 45 minutes, so I decided not to. However, I did notice that I had never set my alarm, so I turned it on. I'm glad I did wake up then, otherwise I would've been late.
