Newb experiences and questions, advice welcome..

I've tried Lucid dreaming about 2 years ago, with not a lot of success but hey, what can you expect in a couple of weeks. But i'm back now and more enthusiastic about it for sure, and I thought i'd join this forum to help keep me motivated when i'm frustrated or whatever.

So the last two nights i've been working on dream recall which has been going well, using autosuggestion to try and help me wake up after dreaming, which has been working well. 3 dreams in 2 nights. I've also been doing reality checks every now and then the last 2 days in order to DILD.

This morning I unintentionally woke at 6:30am so I decided to wake for an hour and try WILD.. went back to sleep at 7:30 and set an alarm at 9 to no avail unfortunately. I slept at 11:30pm by the way if that helps! Any tips from anyone, can I do something else in order to increase my chances of LD or just remembering a dream this way?

So this is me so far, i'm loving it so far, never been so excited to sleep! Any advice or just a hello would be great! And thanks for the tutorial page, it's really helpful.

Sounds like you're on the right track. I think attempting a Wake Back To Bed a few nights per week helps a lot. Similar to what you did by staying up for an hour in the morning.

If you want to stay motivated, you can try starting an online dream journal. It can also be inspirational to snoop on other peoples' journals

Try the technique called FILD I have been recommending it to many poeple because it worked so well for me. It is basically the same thing as WILD look it up in the search bar. I always fell asleep trying to WILD but this one is basically the counter to that its like your mind throwing a jab and you perrying it if you know boxing. PM me and let me know how it goes and also if you have any other questions. Most important dont get frustrated and DONT GIVE UP! good luck!

Thanks for the advice, it's given me some ideas I think twice a week i'll try WBTB and otherwise i'll try FILD. I was planning on trying DEILD but perhaps as a beginner it's best to start with these two methods.

I was slightly dissapointed last night as I didnt wake aafter any of my dreams but not to worry I know i'm going to have to stick with it for a while before I get consistent results.

And i'll certainly be checking out others dream journals for inspiration

I've had almost all my lucid dreams from a MILD/auto-suggestion route.

Just started last month, so I've just worked on dream recall. Before I go to bed/anytime I wake up I just chant in my mind "I will realize it's a dream" and imagine myself realizing it.

And I've had 7 or 8 lucids in the past 2 weeks just randomly realizing I'm dreaming, not from any signs or RCs or anything.

Seems like a very good way for a beginner to start, but maybe I'm just lucky. It's not hard to do, so it wouldn't hurt to try. I'm going to put off WILDing until I'm very experienced, I've heard it's a hard thing to do and I don't want to get discouraged.
