      Post Hello

Just wanted to make a quick introduction since I didn't have time yesterday. I'm not new to the whole dreaming thing; I have also researched about lucid dreams (Robert Monroe for VERY detailed dreams , Stephen LaBerge for a little bit on the dream research, keeping up with the academic journals on dreams (Japanese dream machine is a good one), meditation could count here, et cetera). If anyone is interested in DEILD/wish to share a DEILD then PM me; I didn't know the name of the method I began using 4 days ago after entering the same dream three times within 1-2 hours. So far I have had 4 DEILDs.

      First comment.

      Hi there. Total newbie here.

I’ve done lots of meditation before and I believe I could have experienced involuntary lucid dreaming a couple of times, but this is my first direct approach to the subject.

I am feeling kind of overwhelm for the amount of information available in this forum. I’ve already been through the tutorials and CAT seems to be a good place to start.

      What are your first impressions?

Well, just like you said this forum has a lot of information. For intermediate lucid people like me it's a great place for reference. The only reason I use this forum for now is just to review my memory for WILDs. I said somewhere in the forum, but I used to be in the whole New Age movement. I did the protocol for WILD for trying to attain an OBE (they even have a section for it here). I have tried doing WILD 2 nights in a row (including this one), so it's kind of hard. The thing that always stops me from getting a WILD is a sudden increase in heartbeat and shortness of breath. I almost got over it, but I couldn't fend off the suffocating feeling. I probably won't be able to try it again until like tomorrow. Great site for new people though.
      EDIT
Ah, like I said I would like it if people would share some DEILDs with me. However, you reminded me of also asking for experiences with WILD and how to overcome the shortness of breath. I have read over the tutorials, but the experience is different when the person is active in a conversation with you.

Hi there, hgld1234, and good luck.

@ mrcogllrdo: Just curious; for how long have you been working with dreams? I know this is a matter of patience.

I've been working with dreams since about 4 years ago. However, it was on and off, and I had a small factual-amount of information at the time about dreams because of it's importance in the New Age Movement. 2 years ago I started to go more into depth about and how the events on one's life is inter-related to dreams. I began individual experimentation about 1-2 months ago. My experience is from a great variety and I know most of the theories on dreaming from both sides of the coin (New Age people and science). My lucid dreams began around about 10 years ago. Have done just about any method now except anything directly-related to WILDs. I had my first LD I think from being forced to be aware due to nightmares I used to constantly receive when I was a toddler.

      Hi mrcgllrdo,

You are way ahead my expertise. I am also interested in knowing about the theories on dreaming ‘from both sides of the coin’, and I am starting my personal research (Besides experimenting with lucid dreaming). I hope you don’t mind if I ask you for advice from time to time.

No, go ahead and ask all you want. Most of the stuff I know is from like 1/2 a year ago, so you might want to constantly check back on forth for guidance. You can check psionics for New Age with a little bit of Magick (your choice). PM me if you want to know a couple of good sites with information and good sites to place up questions. I'm looking up a little bit about image-streaming, will tell you more if you are interested.

      New Intent

      Coming back from the dead...

I was encouraged by somebody I know to re-join this forum again. I was going to make a new account when I remembered I already had one. This is the account I am referring to.

I'm planning to only use this account for 1) logging my dreams and 2) to attempt shared-dreaming with anyone. Seriously, I invite anyone to bother me at any time. I'm a skeptic, but I'm willing to try it out. So far I've crossed out the majority of claims made by psionics. I consider shared-dreaming to be a part of psionics. I am by no manner trying to disprove psionics to anybody. I'm just trying to see if it's true for my own sake. I also love the claims made by occultism; the idea of working inside a closed system of axioms in which experiences and knowledge is completely subjective, unless proved otherwise (all of the experiments I have heard that strictly adhered to the scientific method have not backed up for anything truly "supernatural"), captures my attention all the time. The possibilities are also awesome, assuming if specifically psionics and things such as magick truly exist. I consider experimentation and analysis of the supposed supernatural as a hobby. My main real interest lies in humans' minds, specifically the brain, and artificial intelligence. With these two in hand I am then curious of two other things: if a human can truly become immortal while retaining their core of their identity (immortality is pointless if the observer, that is the thing that has desires and processes experiences, dies or becomes drastically changed to the point the observer is a completely different one) and if consciousness can be substituted by something else other than a biological machine, such as the brain. All of these aforesaid things require education at a high level, none of which I possess at the moment. For now I can only study math, psychology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and prepare for electrical engineering with some programming (I only know two at the moment! BASIC and JAVA. Planning to learn UNIX and HTML) and math, which I already mentioned. Getting some e-books won't hurt much. Good thing I'm taking physics at the moment.

Now that my updated background is out of the way...I'll make a DJ real soon. Just wanted to tell people that I'm not dead...
