Hi all can you help with a headache?

I'm a guy from Australia (40) nice to meet you all, I've had some really weird reality dreams lately.

my background is I'm a christian and I'm open to new ideas. Lately I have felt an awareness of what seems to be auras in dreams around me. last night a REALLY strange thing happened that I didn't expect
(no substance abuse involved here!) During prayer/meditation which I don't always do but felt the urge to do this for about half an hour before started to go to sleep.

Just as I was entering sleep during this at midnight I felt as though like I was wrapped in a white thing energy or cloud etc then I felt as though I was being sucked along a black tube full of stars like in the night then all I could see was stars and after a while it was like travelling through space regardless of if I had my eyes open or not I could still see stars and other things moving toward me.
As this was happening could drift in and out of consciousness as I chose to. As this happened just above my nose on my forehead it was like burning, it felt as though something was going in or out of me there and I still have a headache now 10 hours later in the same place. Also my muscles twiched lot in various places and fingers were tingly.

It was scary and at the same time nice ( at first I was hoping not to see dead relatives and was very scared) after I din't see the tube anymore it was ok. I't lasted for an hour and at the end I was exhauseted and went to sleep confused.

I hope this isn't to weird to talk about here because I have no Idea what It was about as it feels more real than imagined. My headache is reminding me all day... I have no idea...

      Welcome Chrisau,

Trust me, nothing is weird in reference to talking about dreams here.
I think what you felt are effects of sleep paralysis and HI (Hypognic Imagery). This was the actual transition to the dream, and thats what you usually feel.
Lucid dreams can actually be induced by doing a method called a WILD, where these effects are natural.

These feelings happen to you/your body every night. However you are usually asleep and not aware of it at that time. Perhaps, you weren't very tired and you didn't fall asleep fully (your mind stayed awake, but your body fell asleep).

It's all perfectly normal if thats what your asking. Now onwards to the headache.

I wouldn't recommend taking any medicine unless you are coming down with a fever, but try to tell yourself in your mind and truly believe that the headache will go away.
If you can easily meditate, that would be a perfect time to do so.

Good Luck, and enjoy your stay here at DreamViews!

      Welcome to DV.

It sounds like you went through an exciting, conscious bout of Sleep Paralysis (SP). During the night, especially during our REM cycle (Rapid-Eye-Movement, the stage of sleep when we dream most vividly), our brain paralyzes our body to prevent it from acting out our dreams. It's a natural process that we go through every night without realizing it.
However, many of us here strive to go through this paralysis consciously, so that we may enter a dream also conscious. This is called a lucid dream, the main topic on these forums. A lucid dream is a dream in which you know you're dreaming. You can control the dream and do whatever you wish; go flying around the world or go on a spiritual journey, fight dragons, travel through space, go back in time, etc.

As for the headache, I'm not sure. I never get headaches from sleep paralysis and no one else I know does either. It could just be because it was a somewhat stressful and very exciting thing for you to experience, so your brain is a little exhausted.

I should have described it better its not a normal headache as its isolated to between my eyes just above the bridge of my nose only there and its been really sensitive all day no where else hurts, only there where i felt it burning in my dream thing. What I described above hapend as i was in meditation it started as i was talking to God and continued into a semi conscious state I was awake and asleep at the same time it was really weird. I often have dreams I am semi conscious in and know im dreaming like you said, usually in the morning just before you awake it gets like its super real but I recognise those as dreams. What happened last night has haunted me all day.

This still sounds awfully normal to me. What pain we feel in dreams/sleep paralysis/semi-conscious dreams/etc. is often not real but our brain doesn't know it. There was obviously nothing in the physical world burning your forehead, but your brain thought it was real and thus the pain has continued.
In many dreams I have been severely wounded and when I wake up, that area of my body stings, aches or burns.
One of the most vivid experiences I had was when I cut a strange U-shape into my forearm and when I woke up, that exact spot on my arm stung all day.
It's simply your brains inability to differ dream from reality.

I'm not sure how to insert quotes i hope that is right

a few days on since I wrote about that experience I am so confused now i see auras and have what seems like aura things extend from my fingers people can feel them move through thier bodys and i can feel objects with it. I can close my eyes and feel a wall without seeing or touching it by sensing the energy field as it makes contact ( this is so freaky) I don't know who to ask but its driving me nuts and freaking me out just a bit..... a lot. i was hoping for someone with aclue what this might be

When I was a child of about 3 or 4 I used to sometimes get a hallucination of being in an infinite tunnel of a polka dot pattern that was spinning and sometimes changing size and colour. It was really terrifying and used to wake me up and I would cry and run to my mum.

Along with imagery I would also get a hallucinated taste. The taste was totally unnatural and my brain could tell that it wasn't real because it didn't taste like it would even be possible. Anyway, the taste would sometimes carry over outside of my dream as though it were actually real. At most it would last for a few hours and then go away.

Eventually I didn't get the hallucinations any more and never tasted the taste ever again in a dream or in reality. Maybe the headache thing is similar? It might just go away eventually?

Are you angling for a third eye diagnosis here?

We deal mostly in lucid dreams, dreams in general and anything of that nature.

If you wish to talk about your third eye and auras then perhaps you'd be better off visiting the Beyond Dreaming forum.

yeah it wa something like that, though the words I wrote here wrere something of a journal of that first experience, this post is special to me. after that event I had the most amazing dreams. Dreams of blue colurs and eyres and weird places. they happened just as sleep occurred stars filled my dreams. one time i dreamed I was covered in these nice white things that looked like little dome things and it was the nicest feeling. but I am going to look at your link thank you so much.
did I mention third eye and auras?

Whatever it is chrisau, dont be afraid of it, it can only make the experience worst for you. These things have happened to other people and in fact you should consider yourself lucky for going through this experience. Just try to enjoy it while it lasts.

Its been around for 6 months now I cant make it go away. Staying at the dreaming level is much safer. Dreams are cool you can cntrol those and win lotto in them.
