preforming various sequential reality checks is not working

I am very interested in LD and am new to these forums,

I had a dream a few weeks ago where i used various electronic devices like GPSs and In Flight Infotainment Systems without any device failure. I went through menus in these devices. I did this semi-consciously as a reality check, but it didn't work because the device worked. I had a dream where I did semi-complex math on a whiteboard and checked it without having it change or be illogical. I check digital clocks and they function. These are the reality checks that I have tried so far and they have failed. Since I learned what lucid dreaming is two weeks ago, i have had some. I have a decent dream recall of like 1 or 2 dreams recalled a night. Also my LDs seem to be less stable than normal dreams and shorter than normal dreams. Is mine a common problem? What should I do to preform reality checks? Are there better RC options?

Thanks for listening. General LD advice is also appreciated.

If you are wondering in my lucid dreams I become lucid by analyzing events subconsciously, so far. I usually become lucid near the end of the dream. I was hoping RCs would be more reliable.

Forget what you think of RC's for a second... Put some kind of picture/drawing on something you look at fairly often. Whenever you look at it do an RC. That got me my first LD.
And please let me know how this works for you .

PS. There is an actual physical thanks button under my post that boosts my rep btw .

Very sorry but i had to go to bed. I mostly do the nose RC (i used to do the fing-through-the-hand RC but i did it so much that it ended up giving me a bruise) because it is VERY reliable and because it looks the most normal.

PS unfortunately i am working today until 4 just to let u know .

I think you need to realize what a RC is; it really needs to mean something or your doing them for no reason. When you RC (even during the day) you not only need to do the RC (The nose thing, clocks ect.), but you need to look at your surrounding. Once you look at your surroundings, you need to question, 'Am I dreaming?". After you have done that, thought about if you were dreaming, and you have reasoned yourself that you are not dreaming, you think to think about what you would be doing at that instant if you were dreaming.

Not that i have much experience with Lucid dreaming, but this is what I am to understand is the the way to do a RC correctly, and im sure many people that rely on RCing much can back me up.
