      Hello everyone :)

Just introducing myself...I found this forum while looking for info on my 'dreams' which are probably more accurately hypnopompic hallucinations (and spiders!). And now I am a little intrigued about lucid dreaming so I'll probably hang around for a bit for some more reading and see where it takes me

So, I am a 38 y/o mom to two boys, I do have some insomnia at times, I have lately learned to realize when I'm about to fall asleep as the thoughts in my head take a drastic turn. Sometimes it screws up the process since I get so excited that I AM finally falling asleep, it wakes me up again LOL. I did a bit of sleepwalking as a kid, and have done it a few times as an adult (almost went outside naked, thinking it was the bathroom). I have died once or twice in dreams, once was accompanied with a bit of buzzing, and I've 'buzzed' a few other times (although I've never noticed any sleep paralysis).

Sometimes I have dreams that leave me with a very strong unsettled feeling, but most of the time I have basic run-of-the-mill dreaming randomness.

      Nice to meet you al!

      Hi CrazyMom!

I'm sure you'll like it here! Everyone is very supportive and willing to help. Oh, gosh, sleepwalking! My cousin has sleep walked on occasion...and went into his sisters' bedrooms, lol. So, now they have their doors locked!

Thanks for the warm welcome I have since recalled that over the years, I've had a few lucid dreams. Once when I was a young girl I dreamed that I was being chased by some 'bad men' who wanted to kidnap me. I stopped in the middle of the road (black asphalt) and I recall it was very early morning and still quite dark, and I realized I was in a dream. But that realization did nothing for me, I still have to keep running LOL.

I told my sister about it and she said "Oh, whenever I'm having a bad dream, I just pinch myself and I wake up!" So the next time I was aware of being in a dream, I stopped running, my dream self pinched herself/myself but it did no good, I did not wake up and once again I had to get back to running.

I think I've had a couple in the decades since then, but I don't have any specific memories.

If that ever happens again, do what I do. Tell the chasers to halt. Then explain to them that you're the dreamer, and they have to do what you say .

I do this all of the time. I told a DC POLICEMAN a few days ago that I'm the dreamer and he must listen to me. I was looking for this one guy in my dream, so I alerted him to look out for him and to tell everyone else to do the same. Everyone already knew. They were running in all directions, a classic panic type thing . I did this in my lucid today, too. I told them to help me with something, they all came, and vigorously helped me do what I wanted them to! Try it, it's fun, and can make what you want to be accomplished go quicker. Utilize DC's.
