      has anyone else experienced this??

I think i might have had my first lucid dream, but im not completely sure? its kinda of hazy and i dont remember alot of it in detail. in my dream im pretty sure i realized i was dreaming, however i had no control over it. Also it was like i was watching the dream from above looking down on it. I could see myself below interacting with others and i could see everything that was going on but i was not a part of it. The best way to describe would be, kinda like i was sitting on a cloud in the sky watching everything underneath me unfold.
Has anyone else experienced this? would this be considered a lucid dream?

As troy said, if you knew you were dreaming, you were lucid. Simple as that

As far as watching the dream from above, that's not unnatural. Personally, in my normal dreams I tend to switch between 1st-person point of view and an omniscient 3rd-person point of view. When I become lucid, I usually am in 1st-person, but as I lose lucidity it can change again. Some such as myself would consider that a low-level LD where you knew you were dreaming (if that was the case) but didn't really have any control or weren't fully aware of what was around you.

You're on the right track, though! Keep going and you'll be having LDs in no time. Sweet dreams!

People have different kinds of dreams. Some people in first person, some in another body, some watch from a bird's eye view... and some in black and white. I'm sure if you got better at controlling your dreams you could get down to first person. Keep trying though. Read up on the different types of techniques and remember to stick with it. The more you try the better you'll get.
