First time

Hey I have heard about lucid dreaming before and never really understood it but last night I finally experienced it. I realized that I was dreaming and just picked up a knife and cut the person closest to me ( I was in a kitchen). I am going to try it again tonight I am a little nervose because my heart started beating rapidly and I awoke suddenly after quite frightened at what had happened but I'll try it again and post tommorow. First off, welcome to DV! We're glad you joined us here, Redsox, and let us know if there's any way we can help you. It's easy to get emotional once you discover you're dreaming. With time and practice you can train yourself to relax and stay in the dream longer. Just remind yourself before going to sleep, as well, that when you realize that you're in a dream, take a moment to relax. Rub your hands together to increase the clarity of the dream, and then act!
