It's easy to get emotional once you discover you're dreaming. With time and practice you can train yourself to relax and stay in the dream longer. Just remind yourself before going to sleep, as well, that when you realize that you're in a dream, take a moment to relax. Rub your hands together to increase the clarity of the dream, and then act!
