      Curious.

      Hey guys.

Never been here before, came across this place via Google.

Reason for posting is that it appears I am the first person to ask this question on the internet (well, so Google tells me).

My partner usually has bad dreams. Which obviously upsets me.

She keeps having dreams where I am not in them. This on it's own doesn't bother me, I have never held much respect for dreams, they never phase me and I have no problems disregarding them. What upsets me is that my partner does, she looks at every dream and tries to analyze it.

Lately she has been having a lot of dreams where she is in situations that she wants me to be there. In her dreams I am always on her mind and am the deciding factor in how she reacts in her dreams but am never there in person.

The last dream she had she was with friends and an ex, she was pregnant (she explained it was my baby). She was planning to jump the border with illegal documents and then go into hiding. In her dream she was distraught that I wasn't there as she was going to miss me terribly and that she would never see me again.

She woke up to tell me this whilst crying and wanted to know why I am never in her dreams. She then asked me "will you always be there for me?" to which I strongly said yes and replied with "have I ever not been there for you?" to which she promptly replied "never".

If it were up to me, I would dismiss this dream as rubbish, like I said, dreams don't bother me but because my partner sees dreams as the subconscious trying to tell you something, I want to try and understand.

Can anyone help me try and understand what these dreams mean? I love her with the power of 10,000 angry gods, and she shows me and tells me on a regular basis that she feels the same.

Dreams aren't rubbish. Dreams are amazing, powerful constructs of the mind that should not be ignored. However, I believe there is no deep meaning to any dream. Maybe the fact she expects you to not be there makes her subconscious block you out in the dreams.

Yeah, sorry, maybe the 'dreams are rubbish' call was a little off-site.

Although I don't think this is quite the place you need, you can probably find a website that explains dream meanings. Here is a website I found that explains a lot of common dreams. Hope this helps!

Dreams really are rubish in the non-ld point of view. They are distorted, don't make sense, and really have no meaning to them. Sometimes they do have meanings in them but the meaning can easily be found out without using the dream for help. The people having the dreams need to just think about what's bothering them. Dreams are mostly for entertainment and things done for entertainment really are rubbish. It doesn't mean they aren't fun though Lucid dreams make dreams worthwhile.

Well I agree with Loaf, that there is no real deep meaning in most dreams. However since your partner does believe there is you might try describing the dreams in this forum http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...splay.php?f=30 there are a lot of people there that will try to help decipher her dreams. Good luck I hope it works out for you!

And stay away from the dream dictionaries.

That said, dreams are a reflection of our own fears and inadequacies, not those of the people who appear (or don't appear) within them. I think she's looking for reassurances more than anything.

I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.
