      Namaste!

Nice to meet you all and to be honest, in the past I've dabbled in lucid dreams and have been greatly interested in them, but not until after tonight's viewing of Inception( That movie was very good) have I actually decided to join a community and try to experience this type of thing for myself.

I'm trying to encourage myself enough to begin a journal as well.
      Heading to sleep now!

Once again, nice to meet you all.

Haha, I feel sort of lame for saying this, but that's the exact reason I registered here last night. It was a fantastic movie though, and extremely thought-provoking.

Hopefully us two noobs can figure this stuff out, eh? Good luck to the both of us.

      Welcome to you both!

I really want to see that movie.. I'm wondering if its going to cause a horde of people to start lucid dreaming as a flavor of the month type idea. It would help getting the idea and topic into western culture.

Anyways, there are a ton of educated lucid dreamers here willing to help you both out. We'll be here to help you along your journey; you won't be alone!

make it three! I saw the movie last night too! I actually dreamt last night that i was inn some random place, but then I met the people from Inception, and i tried to do the controlled dreaming thing, so I was actually dreaming within a dream o_O So i though t i was really doing it but then i woke up and realized I was just double dreaming.

But I wqnt to learn to control my dreams too!

I feel a little silly linking something I wrote, but here is a beginners guide I wrote a while ago. Made it a bit easier to just link rather than type it out for everyone who was asking me questions

I just want to welcome all the new people! I've also just got into this a little less than a week ago and I just had my first lucid experience! I'm sure all of you can too! I would like to see inception too :p

I wander through the woods listening to the sound of nature. The sky turns red and opens before me. I realize that I must be dreaming... My adventure has just begun.

Goddamn, I really have to check out Inception... Welcome guys.

Here's some basic tips for anybody totally new: (I'd write more but I'm lazy)
      1. Get into writing down your dreams. Anything you remember at all helps boost your recall abilities. If you like, create your own dream journal blog on the site here. The more dreams you remember and write down, the easier it is to spot dreamsigns. (Odd things that only happen in dreams)
      2. Reality-check during the day. By this I mean test your reality, to see if you're dreaming. I like to do it every time I notice something weird, or a coincidence. Get into the habit of looking at your hands, or pinching your nose and trying to breathe. Do it enough during the day and it'll carry over to your dreams. One of the times you test it, reality will fail. You're dreaming.
      3. Learn from other people. Have a trawl round the different parts of the forum, there's some good stuff in here. Feel free to read other people's dream journals for inspiration too.

If anybody has anything to add, fire ahead. There's bound to be more good advice for newbies but I'm out for now.

Welcome aboard. As you can tell from my avatar... I too joined because of Inception. Well, not exactly because. I'd always been interested in this whole idea and practice and I'd been teetering on the edge for quite awhile. I saw the film and it was so good that it really made me want to experience something akin to it myself. Enter: registration.

Hopefully we're here long enough to actually learn something ^_^.

Hey Fugue, Macintoshkid, nice to see two people in the same situation. Keep in touch, i've written one dream journal entry, althought not lucid, it's a start. I look forward to reading yours too.
And as I see, a lot of people are joining for the same reason
Thanks for the warm welcomes, there are many resources here and that's what kept my interest in the site.
I notice a lot of you are from the Midwest, as am I.

For those wondering about Inception and whether or not to see it, well...YES! see it! You won't regret it if you have 2 and half hours and 10 bucks to spend.

Looking forward to lucid dreaming. Any night now -_-

It only ends once, anything before that is just progress.
