John 3:16

You've truly excelled yourself this time, Noogie. |

Modern popular music is extremely pathetic. It is not even about sounding good. It is all about image. It is so shallow. |

How do you know you are not dreaming right now?

I used a plural term. There have been several golden ages of music, and every major genre has had at least one. The golden age of classic rock, which I consider the absolute peak of musical history, began in the 60's and ended in the 70's. When would you say music was at its best? |

I like the Beatles and some Elvis and even a couple of other artists but that's about it for me and 60's music. But I can't judge because I didn't grow up in the 60's or the 70's. I do like the 80's(MJ fan first and foremost) but I consider best music in the early 90's(it sorta dropped off with Boy bands and what not in the late 90's. Not to say I didn't watch them but I didn't like them too much.) I like a few 2000's songs but not enough to say its my favorite decade for music. |

So you like The Beatles but not 90s boy bands? What do you think The Beatles were? They put out 27 albums in 8 years. If you saw someone do that today, you would just think they weren't putting any work into them. What made The Beatles so different? Most over-hyped band ever... |
|
I guess with that rationale it would be true. But you can't seriously be comparing Boy bands of the 90's to the Beatles can you. Its your opinion but I have to disagree with you. Beatles had hits after hits (I think they have record for most #1's on billboard not sure though) plain and simple they rocked and I didn't even grow up in the 60's. I listen to boy bands but it was more of a passing trend(everyone in school listen to them but a month later they were forgotten until the next big hit) then anything else really. Yeah this just my opinion. If you like boy bands so be it. I just believe there no where near "Beetle-Mania". |

I love all sorts of music from various years, as well as some chants and instrumentals (especially the flute). |
|
Well one of the members did die you know. Please Britney Spears has musical ability but it aint no Beatle material besides the Beatles paved the way to many great artists. I don't recall Backstreet boys or Nsync or even Britney Spears having paved anything actually. The Beatles aren't even my favorite band but I love their music. |

27 albums? You must be including a lot of compilations and import versions. The Beatles came out with about two albums per year. They were workaholics who lived and breathed music, and they stopped doing concerts in 1966, though they performed the Rooftop Concert in 1969. They did not jack around and record a bunch of filler. They were possibly the most dedicated and serious musical act there has ever been. |
