I am dual Canadian/British, so I could vote with my embassy over here in Germany. But I don't vote. Politics is a joke of an outdated system that does not work. Vote for monkey A or monkey B... they are all the same. You need to add a "I'm not voting" option to your poll.

I'm probably going to vote Conservative (painfully). I'm not conservatively minded at all, I'm quite "left-wing", but the Liberal party still seems much too disorganized (even though Ignatieff seems alright). Plus they plan on scrapping the F-35 purchase which would be a disaster. At least it makes me feel a bit better that the Conservatives have been one of the least conservative "conservative" governments ever. They're quite big spenders... Plus they did a good job with the economy during the recession; Canada probably came out in the best state out of all the Western countries, which is no mean feat given how closely linked our economy is to the US. The Conservatives just really haven't screwed up enough for me to be mad enough to vote against them. I also want a majority, our country is not designed to be run with a minority government (as it has for the last 7 years). I don't think anybody believes that the Liberals can pull off a majority government this election. The NDP is too idealist and is basically fetching for immigrant votes. They have their place in the House of Commons by supporting the Left but I wouldn't trust them to run the country. The Bloc shouldn't even exist (and I'm from Quebec). I'll never support any party that only focuses on one issue, like the Greens. Anyone who doesn't vote has no right to complain about politics or the government. Edit: It's spelled "Conservative"

Like Spartiate, I'm by no means a "conservative" but the current Conservative party seems to be stable enough and, according to my limited knowledge of the current political climate, best fit to keep us on track. I don't think they'll turn us into a major world-power (nor do i want them to) but thing's have been working out so far so why change? I've been hearing a lot of things about the Liberals so I'm a little iffy when it comes to them. I don't think the NDP has any real chance of winning (although I'm probably wrong, I'm simply assuming because I've hardly heard any talk of them) so I don't intent to waste my vote by ticking their box. @ Spartiate: Why would it be a "disastrous" to scrap the F-35? The problem is with a majority, they can push in whatever bill they want. Harper is anti same sex, hes against drug rehab,he just wants to throw them in the prisons he built he wants to give corporations tax breaks COUGH AFFILIATION COUGH. In my eyes hes a dangerous man, and also. He never straight answers a question. And he avoids the media, a horrible politician with a good look puts a good impression on most people, but not me.

The F-18s need to be replaced, they're 30 years old. Their maintenance costs are rising and they are suffering more and more from safety issues. I know a good deal about the aerospace industry and there isn't a whole lot out there other than the F-35. The F-18 replacement would all but certainly be an american model. The only other reasonable purchase I can think of would be the Super Hornet which is already 10 years old... All our allies are going ahead with the F-35. If the Liberals scrap the purchase, one of two things would happen: 1) We waste a bunch of time and money and end up choosing the F-35 again. 2) We delay the purchase of a Hornet replacement indefinitely until they become extremely expensive and dangerous to fly and eventually order a new future model that will be just as expensive. The Liberals did this with our Sea King helicopters in the 90s. Our Sea Kings are almost 50 years old and STILL haven't been replaced. They have the embarrassing tendency of falling out of the sky... In any scenario, we waste time, money and end up embarrassing ourselves. Just buy the damn things. I really wish Canada didn't kill off it's domestic military aerospace industry... The problem is with a majority, they can push in whatever bill they want Good! Maybe they'll get some shit done instead of calling an election every few months.

When you listen to him he wants total control a "strong healthy majority" with his bad politics and extreme views on several things, I just couldn't bear to have him as a leader. The view on everything, the fact that he kept us in a war we shouldn't be fighting. He's building more jails so he can lock people up for crimes that don't mean much. In my eyes Harper is a dangerous man.

He's building more jails Aren't our prisons overpopulated? Crowded prisons do nothing but make matters worse for prisoners, prison staff, and the community (upon a criminal's release). Ignore this if they aren't but if they are, good on Harper. so he can lock people up for crimes that don't mean much Just because he's building a few more facilities doesn't mean he'll be able to change the entire criminal code...

I if he followed through with that they would be out by now. And he's not taking everyone out when he does. He purchasing attack planes for defense purposes. For a ridiculous price, and there are at least 6 other manufactures of planes, where we could potentially get a cheaper deal. Giving tax cut to people who can afford to be taxed. I don't want government like that.
