They are calling for 1/4 inch of ice and 3-5 inches of snow here tonight.
I've caught about 4 gallons of drinking water and have fuel for the cookstove. Firwood is on the porch and a nice fire going in the woodstove.

      BRING IT ON!!!!

During those ice storms a few years ago, my family was literally trapped in our house because our road had completely caved in. We couldn't leave, nor could anyone get to us. We had no power for nearly a week. We had gas heaters in the cellar to keep the pipes from freezing, and (thankfully!) gas heat throughout the house. We didn't freeze, we didn't starve, and we had lots of pretty candles lit. The family was together and it wasn't so bad. Compared to other Mainers, we had it easy. *

It has crossed my mind to move elsewhere. I just don't have the money to do it. I would love to travel, though. In fact, England is one of the places that I'd like to visit. Ireland, Japan, Africa. I really want to see the world some day.

Ha yea, I live in south carolina, right now its about 30 degrees hopfully school will be cacilled tomorrow also. lol

hrm. you must live in northern ontario? since i'm guessing you live in northern ontario, you must be using celsius. i think the coldest i've seen it here (i live in windsor) this year is 15 below (celsius); or around 5 fahrenheit.
Each new day is a chance to turn it all around.

*sigh* looks like the big snow storm wasn't so big. It didn't even started snowing untill 8 or 9 AM when it was supposed to start at midnight.

My reactions to seeing no snow in the morning: -> -> ->
