Happy to hear you had a nice time in Florida. Must have been a really great trip, be good to see some photos.

I have an abstract fear of flight, but I would love to travel in a plane someday.

Hey Liz...welcome back girl!! What other sort of things did ya do in Florida besides shop? Anything fun or interesting? Get a tan?

The Eagle Has Landed in my old History class meant you did not finish a homework assignment so you didn't have to tell the teacher you didn't do it.

Well, i have a wonderful tan, besides shopping, i went to the movies, hung about on the beach and just generally took it easy. It must have been the most chilled out flight of my life!
As to the flight, taking off and then finding an hour later that you are 40,000 feet up, and that the temperature is -56 degrees is something quite exhilarating, especially when the clouds are below you as opposed to above you!
and there is nothing better than sunrise in the air, i had that on the way back, the plane was flying straight into the dawn, and because you are travelling at some 600 miles per hour, sunrise takes about 15 minutes!
I got some pictures of the sky from inside the plane, but i'm not sure they've come out.
I have decided that next time i go, i want to go snorkelling. There's also a wildlife park that i want to visit, tried to go this time around, but it was shut.
With regards to wild life, i saw lizards, the biggest cricket ever, and a green frog! (as in, lime green!) also i saw a great big owl...not sure what kind, and turkey buzzards, an armadillo (he was cute), fire ants, and a snapping turtle.
and i didn't step on one single anthill, i had been well warned.

Yeah glad you had fun. And I too have seen some awesome sunrises/sunsets on the plane. And snorkeling is always a good time if the reefs are nice enough.

Well, for me it was an expedition, it was my first trip abroad and my first ever flight, believe it or not!

ah ha, you just didn't have the correct chemical assistance. dramamine and valium is the answer. i slept nearly the whole of my last 12 hours plane ride using this combo.

Well, i tried to get to sleep using a double whisky and coke, and a glass of wine, which only suceeded in giving me a mini hangover!!
And i thought about sleeping pills, but i didn't think they'd be allowed on the plane...

I don't see why not, as long as it's a legal drug.

At any rate, I'm glad that you had a lot of fun! Now you see why I like to fly.... even though I have yet to go on a long trip. But I'm also like you in that I can almost never sleep when I travel. Anyway, pictures!
