    Thread: if you could change 1 thing in history, what would you change?

      Okay. I will change the date the transistor was invented to 8,000 years ago. Should be fun.

      The transistor would be completely useless 8000 years ago. They didn't have the math to use it for anything interesting, nor the power needed to have it do anything, nor the processing techniques required to make it communicate with the world (display, input, etc). In other words, it wouldn't change much :p

      Actually, the meme could be argued to be of XML, as it's the only language that allows you to define your own, arbitrary tags. The fun part is that you used BBcode style for the tags, and since BBcode is also derived from HTML, it could be argued that you're both right. Or both wrong. I'm going with the latter. And I'd like to add that we're thoroughly off topic.

      Can't answer those questions without revealing it. It's just that there are so few things in history I'd dare change, as the consequences would be monumental and impossible to calculate beforehand.
