The Few. The Proud. The Santa Claus.

The 'throwing him in the fireplace' shot is the funniest thing ever. Lmao.

I hope it isn't real fat, for their good. No matter real or just a filler, it must be too heavy.

Santa Clauses used to cause a pretty good drama in my life until I got 6. Now I'm glad to see they have to sweat before emitting that stupid ho-ho-ho.

THREAD IS NOW SANTA GENERAL THREAD.

In the UK we call him Father Christmas. Anybody do that in the US?

The thing about him being branded red by Coca Cola is an urban legend. Though that classic advert is basically an important tradition now.

What are your traditions? Our family used to leave out some brandy and mince pies, and some carrots for the reindeer, and I would have to be asleep by midnight. In the morning I would wake up real early and go down to the living room where the tree lights would be on and there would be a big pile of presents on the sofa which I could open. We have a proper fireplace and there would be soot hand prints all around it.

Ohh yeah, and a few days before, we would go to a nearby manor and park where they had a mini steam train, which would take us through the woods to Father Christmas's lodge, and he would give us little presents. That was so cool.

I used to ask several sceptical questions, such as questions about the logistics of the operation... my parents told me he's able to stop time and do it all instantaneously which I thought was awesome. I can't wait to do all this stuff when I have my own kids.

Guess I stopped believing when I was about nine or ten. God forgive me.

I had to receive my presents from the Russian version of Santa Claus, namely Father Frost with his assistant Snow-White (occasionally), and had to say a poem or sing a song before that. It ended in my crying and throwing toys away, because I dreaded that red nose and his white beard.
Father had to tell me the truth comparatively early to prevent me from such scenes.

Ours were kind of a lot like yours, Xei (minus the mini train ride through the woods, you lucky fuck. Lol). Basically we'd leave out cookies and milk for Santa, and would have to be in bed before 12. Then wake up to all the presents under the tree. I'm surprised my kid isn't up by now. Haha. She's 11, though, and she's already deduced the whole 'Santa isn't real' thing. She's fine with it.

Usually, we'll take a trip out to visit my family(ies) in Daytona, but we went to see them last night, because I've got to work tonight and we didn't want to cram everything in today. So we are just going to chill around the house. I bought my daughter an electric guitar, so we're going to have some fun with that, before I go to work.
